Description: The receptionist at our hotel reccommended this place. We were looking for a typical Armenian restaurant. The Afrikyanneri Pandok met our expectations. This is a cellar restaurant just of Sacharov Square. We had excellent Armenian food for a very decent price and there was live music to accompany it. The only reason I would not give it 5 stars is that the service was very slow.

This joint has nothing to do with Africa. Afrikyans were a family, which either owned this place or it was named to honor this old Yerevan family. In any case, the food is homey, tasty, and well prepared. Avoid sitting next to the music, try the downstairs. Instead of soft drinks, we asked for Tan - it's a local yogourt drink.

It's been a busy travel month for me and I was grateful to find this place next to the office of my partners. Nicely cooked meats and veggies, with local deserts and very affordable during lunch. They could do better with wine selection but that's not a big deal. Waitress didn't speak English but made no fuss about it and tried to be helpful with a nice smile. Thanks!

We were happy to see many locals there, as it looked like the kind of place that could cater mainly to foreigners. In addition to good food at reasonable prices, we were treated to great live traditional music that might have been offered in a concert hall

We went with an Armenian friend who used to work there so we can't comment on the service.
We really enjoyed the food...menu items all had an English option..favorites were the dolmas with both grape leaf & cabbage wrapping..we sat in the basement..nice "wood cabin" decor...watch out on the steps...the rug is a bit tattered...the value seemed great (although our hosts wouldn't let us pickup the check) 600 dram for a pretty good size veal or chicken Khorovats
