Description: The Club is an uncommon combination of gallery, restaurant, tea room and a wine cafe. It's neither snobbish nor exclusive. The real star here is the creative Armenian cuisine prepared with a French touch and served with truffle and paired wines.

The mouth watering stake on the stone exceeds expectations … it is a must try dish, along with the perfect classical Armenian folk songs!

“The guy is banking on good restaurant's reputation from the past...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2010

Have been to the place twice.
The atmosphere is good. It is quite cozy in fact.
First time we had few dishes from their Á La Carte:
The Armenian starter platter is good
Lamb Shank is tender enough.
Ter Ter Marestav with minced beef was dry.
Deserts are excellent.
Steak on the stone is reported to be very good!

Now, moving on to the "making a quick buck" bit.

Beware of a little trap on their wine list. Under Armenian Wines you may find Areni Malishka 2002 for 14,400/AMD (about 29/EUR) a bottle. Naturally, a client not familiar with local wines would chose a bottle of the most expensive local wine, just to try it.
The wine is not one of the best Armenian ones and The Club has a mark up of over 300% on it. Choose something else.

We tried their Valentine's Day menu. And it was awful. And I really mean it! The menu was 12,700 dram (25 EUR) per person with no drinks included. We had:
Salmon Aumônière that literally had one pea size piece of salmon in it. We pointed it out to the waiter and received only a giggle back. No willingness to make up for it.
Prime rib was terribly overcooked.
Chicken with chorizo was really dry.
I wonder how a chef having a limited set menu for the evening spoil the food that much. Amazing!
No good-will exists in that place. A waitress managed to spill white sauce over one of our friend's jacket. They have apologised and promised to take it to dry cleaners, so it's available on the next day. This is good! Have they knocked at least something off the bill? Not a chance. And the 12% service charge was automatically included in the bill.

Our Armenian friends told us that most of the local eating places tend to be decent during first couple of years since opening. Then the quality of food and service tends to deteriorate. No idea how to explain it: victims of their own success or greediness...
I think it's the time of passing by this place, especially that there are much better food served in Yerevan!

Don't miss the mante, famous Armenian dish, in addition to the pizaa. In fact, everything was yammy. When we went in the evening, there was a lady singing, which was great! Nice place.

“This was a great hidden restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2008

Great Armenian cuisine but done in a very classy North American presentation. We went twice because we loved it so much. We have recommended it to many friends and all have returned with positive experiences. Very nicely decorated and for an added touch the head cook may come out and sing a beautiful medley from Gomidas. A mut see restaurant
