While visiting Yerevan in september 2012, my boyfriend and me went 3 times to this restaurant. In the midst of the desert of bad customer service in Yerevan, we found Lagonid a refreshing oasis.
Food is amazing, really great and for a very reasonable price in Yerevan. (a complete main course, including meat and side dishes comes around 2000-2500 amd).
All three evenings we went there, the service was in a class of its own in Yerevan. English speaking staff, the food was fresh and didn't take too long to get served. One evening there was a mix-up about the wine we wanted to drink (got a bottle of red instead of white), it was replaced without a problem, no extra charges.
We also found it was the best place to smoke a waterpipe in Yerevan (3000 amd). Pipe was clean, and well prepared, with lots of choices in tobacco.

This is a no frills restaurant. We keep coming back here as the food is good, service is fast and the prices are very reasonable.

Armenians like meat. Lots of it. When they don't have meat they're having eggs and cheese. So if you're vegan, or only occasionally lacto-ovo vegetarian, Lagonid is a lifesaver in Yerevan. It's a small, simple place, with a few outdoor tables in summer, perched near the top of Nalbandyan Street. (Alert on street numbers: on Nalbandyan the odd numbers run very slowly up the hill, so no. 37 (Lagonid) is across the street from the mid-100s.) It's run by a Syrain family who know how to do up traditional mediterranean cuisine: hoummous, falafel (Tuesdays and Fridays), tabbouleh, labneh, dolmades, baba-ghanouj. And yes, they have lots of meat dishes for carnivores, too. Best of all it's inexpensive, even by Yerevan standards. Order a couple of sides and some Arab bread and you're away for about 1600AMD (that's less than $4 CAD). It's also licensed, although be careful; the prices have altered slightly since the menus were last printed.
