We stayed on Whale Island for 2 nights.
The island and the beach and the calmness of the place makes it a paradise.
The service is also good and the atmosphere very relaxed.
Just a couple of things to note.
No air conditioning in the bungalow and the temperatures can be very high at night too.
And the heat keeps bugs quite happy in your bungalow (we had 2 cockroaches inside our net one night).
The food was sometimes quite average, we had an excellent pumpkin soup though.
In terms of number of nights I wouldn't go over 3 if you are quite an active person (unless you want to dive every day :).
Go if you hated Nha Trang, like I did.
