“cool place to see”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

Even though staff will try to rip you off by selling you 'student postcards" (welcome to Nha Trang), the pagoda is amazing and worth the visit. Bring some cold water from your hotel if you don't want to pay 10 times the price !

“Biggest Buddha ever!”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

We visited here as part of a city tour. Really worth a visit although does include a lot of stairs to get to the top section. Beautiful grounds. Bottom temple is lovely. Lots of stairs to get to the sleeping Buddha half way up, and the large Buddha statue at the top, but well worth it. The view is great too.

“Not too amazing”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

A large sleeping buddha, and a big white buddha. Nothing too special about this location, unfortunately. It is an ok place to visit since the walk there offers an interesting site into the backstreets of Nha Trang (which are not as nicely maintained as the beachfront) and also a view over the local residential areas of Nha Trang - again not as nice as the touristy areas.

As mentioned by many others here, there are scammers asking for money all around this place - try to avoid them if possible. There are also beggars up the stairs, and some kids also asking for money. That being said it is still relatively safe. Worth a visit if you have the spare time and are interested in seeing the Buddha but certainly this was a disappointment compared to other things I experienced in Vietnam.

“Ignore the scammers and it's great for a quick visit”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

We have just got back from visiting this place and feel fed up with the scammers! We have been in Vietnam for nearly three weeks now and so are used to people asking us for money claiming they are 'students' raising money for supposed childrens schools. As soon as we arrived at the pagoda we were greeted by two so called students who continually claimed they were not tour guides, and they made it clear there was no fee to see the pagoda. After a few minutes we realized they just wanted our money for postcards, just like a previous reviewer has posted. 12 for 200,000VND! We also politely declined and said that we didn't have the money for it, which was true as we'd only brought enough for the taxi ride. Upon recieving this news their fake smiles turned to anger and they threw their arms up in disgust and stormed off! It's a shame becuase it put a bit of negative start to the visit which otherwise is a great attraction and worth seeing!
Although it's fairly big, you only need to allow 20-30 mins for the pagoda. Our advice, just do as another reviewer suggests and ignore them outright.

“great location”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Even though we expected to be harassed by the beggars we were lucky enough to be hassle free. My suggestion to everyone is just ignore them and they leave you alone. As soon as you start talking to them they will stick to you like glue.

The Temple is very well kept and well worth the visit. From the right side of the temple walk up the steps to the Buddha and enjoy a nice view of the city.

Well worth the trip up.
