Vinpearl Nha Trang Resort
Ranked #19 of 211 Hotels in Nha Trang
Reviewed November 27, 2010

Got there in late October and left early November. Had 12 day stay (3 family packages back to back). Really great food, really clean, private island, easy to get around and to mainland, water park is pretty good and amusement arcades all free to use, water fountain show is cool. We were offered day trips to see Nha Trang and speed boat snorkeling to see floating fishing village...also great. October and early November is not the best time to visit as it's rainy season and when it rains it pours. So much rain at one point that the reservoir burst it's banks and cascaded down the hillside through the hotel and into the pool. Pool was out of action for at least ten days. Kids club got flooded. The staff were really great and kind. There are lots of Russians who are generally not the friendliest of people and sometimes very rude. All in all, a great hotel great facilites and staff and a lovely break away.

We chose Dalat and Nha Trang (Vinpearl Resort) to break the monotony of Ho Chi Minh city this Oct. A short cab ride from Dalat took us to Nha Trang. By the time we arrived at Nha Trang we were tired and hungry but late for Lunch, so we ate at a Indian Restaurant in the market in Nha Trang. We then moved to the Reception area of the Resort in Nha Trang from where we had a choice to be transported by either cable cart or by boat. The kids chose Cable cart and parents obliged ! We were promptly provided identity cards which when swiped (to the amusement of children) displayed the scanned photos from the passport of the individual ! The Cable cart ride is one of the longest that we had anywhere experienced although there is a pretty long one in Dalat as well. It is advisable to carry your own drinking water as I didnt see any store in the resort selling water and ordering for bottles from the hotel pantry can be an expensive affair. It started to rain as soon as we arrived in the Resort but we got our umbrellas from the friendly Resort staff and were escorted promptly to our section of the hotel. The Resort is quite big and includes apart from multiple buildings for guests (I was told by my vietnamese speaking sis in law that our building was for budget travelers!) a host of fun, sports and entertainment activities which are engaging and interesting for the entire family. My bro in law was enjoying the video games so much that he forgot to pick up his cellphone after winning a game of car chase(and obviously by the time he returned it was gone !) The water park and rides are entertaining but you could spend lot of time in the pool and by the beach ! The Resort has childrens play areas where you can safely leave your child. All meals were included in our package and the buffet was sumptuous but diid not exactly match all of our taste buds. We however ate (and the bigger sin...wasted) quite a lot. The same snake fish was repeated quite a number of days and the small variety used meant there were lot of bones..the meat was largely tasteless and undercooked; clearly variety was more important than taste and quality !! Throughout the stay one has lot of options and depending on who is making the decision and at what time of the day that may not be necessarily enjoyable ! Most definitely worth a visit especially if you are in that part of the world.

The Vinpearl resort is amazing! We decided to splurge on this part of our travel to Vietnam and booked a Grand Deluxe Ocean Suite at the Vinpearl. The room was incredible, spectacular view and so luxurious for the price you pay compared to prices back home.
We only stayed for 3 days and so wish it was more. We travelled with our 9 year old daughter and my parents. When you reach the pier in Nha Trang you are greeted with a grand structure to leave your bags, have a cool drink and check in. Make sure you have your booking details printed out and handy as the person checking us in thought we had different rooms but quickly rectified the issue. Per other reviews we decided to take the speed boat across as it was cooler and quicker. At the island we were greeted by the buggy driver who took us to the resort. Everything about this place is beautiful, from the huge foyer, huge pool, day spa, beautiful beach, shopping, entertainment and ultimately relaxation.
Our first day it rained in the morning but this didn’t stop us as it was still so warm. We used this time to explore the aquarium on the Island which was great and then we went to the water park. We were the only ones there most of the time and we had a ball. My only complaint would be with the opening times for each ride. They don’t open each ride at the same time and this can be frustrating if you have a small child who can’t go on a particular ride, so you have to wait for another ride to open or miss it all together. This may not happen in their peak times. The wave pool, Tsunami ride, Slides and floating around the park were so much fun. That afternoon we spent around the enormous pool, which also has many activities for kids to enjoy and parents to relax. This resort is right on the beach and the water is so warm! We had the all inclusive option and had the buffet meals each day. If you happen to stay longer you may want to try the other restaurants for variety. The options on the buffet were very good and varied every day which was fine for us as we were there for only a short time. The next day we went to the Amusement Park on the island which was so much fun especially for kids (and kids at heart) as it’s all included! All the game machine, rides, everything, no need to keep forking out loose change. Once again the only frustration was the opening times for each ride. They also have a large shopping strip and amphitheatre as well. More time around the pool and on the beach. I had a massage in the day spa and it was fantastic. The Vinpearl have a doctor on site, boutiques, business centre (free Wi-Fi in rooms) and a Library as well. The huge bed was a bit soft for us but others may like that. We took the Cable car across to the main land for a round trip to see the view and it was worthwhile to try out the largest over sea cable car. The amusement park is open late so after dinner we went on some more rides. Some of the staff can seem abrupt which can be the way of some of the Vietnamese but most went out of their way to help us and try to speak English to us. This resort is nothing like being in the rest of Vietnam and I must admit it was hard to get back into the real Vietnam after this 3 day break. It was a great way to break up the holiday. We were worried about being stuck on an Island but honestly we could have easily stayed here for a week and visited the mainland and do some day tours as well. Well done Vinpearl.

Have a chance staying at Vinpearl in July. The location is on the island thus there is a good or bad idea depends on the individual interest.
I got a seaview room, thus can't not say any bad about it. The services from the staff is good in the transfer area in land. However, at the hotel, the quality of services is reduced due to full guests and lack of employees or not?
Due to the management changed, ( Vietnamese running) they might run the vietnamese way. On the check out day, I was in line waiting for the next available clerk. Suddenly, a lady made a cut from nowhere to the next available clerk. What surprised me was that clerk assumed I was invisible to her and continued working with the other lady who did not get in the line. This resort rated as 5 stars, but I could not believe that they assumed I was in the vietnamese local market, or buying a train ticket with the local people. They assumed that worked with a person in the waiting line or other person who made the cut... it did not matter.. she still got paid. It's a 5 stars rating, but the services was less than 2 stars. A 2 stars hotel costs only $25, but this resort charged me $225 a night. I guested it's the Vietnamese way to service guests. ( You in line or not in line... it's not my job. damn!)
The room itself getting deteriorated, bathroom showing molding.
The foods is nothing special.
Too many local people acted as if it they were in their own house, no respect in the public area.
Forget about the cable cab, it too hot inside. Amusement parks is limited plays. ( I am from the U.S, thus it can't compare to Disney, Six Flags drives.)
For $225, I would stay at Novotel for $100/night. The extra $125 would give me excellent meals lunch and dinner in other high class restaurant in Nhatrang.
It was good that I had only 1 night stay and NEVER come back again.

My husband and I decided to go to the Vinpearl resort & spa for our honeymoon purely on and I must say that everything is absolutely fantastic. We stayed in a Villa with ocean view and I was blown away by firstly the view, then a beautiful private pool for VIP. Foods are fantastic (that included on the price). I am so pleased.

The staffs are very friendly, helpful and spent time to talk with the guests.

I also enjoy to play games here, after just 5 – 7 minutes traveling by motor-boat or 13 minutes enjoying Nha Trang’s panorama from Vinpearl Cable-car system. That was very interesting. We had so many funny photos.

My husband took me for a surprise honeymoon here and it was amazing. It is far exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to go back for our 1st anniversary.

I and my 21 year old daughter booked "Free and Easy Package" which included air ticket + two ways transfer + rooms + 3 meals a day and no limit amusement activities for a very reasonable price. Actually we had read about this resort and we had certain expectation.
They provide free all day shuttle canoe to and from Nhatrang, and buggy all over the island. We were really surprised by their sweet welcome and speedy check in procedure, their constant smiling warm service since the moment we landed untill we took off, it's hard to say which one was the best helpful staff because they all tried to be so.
Buffet was good, lunch better than breakfast and dinner better than lunch. Swimming pool was huge and clean, very well maintained. Beach activities, Fountain show, amusement park very interesting. I and my daughter particularly liked the shopping arcades, spent a whole day there though most of shops assistants were not really polite nor professional.
But the water park and the underwater world were crowded and dirty by the time we visited them, they were all wet from the entrance and smelled urine very badly.
We got a garden view room which were a bit tight for both of us. The bathroom was OK, but the wooden floor seemed to be washed a year ago, in all the corners of the room and in the closet we can see cobwebs, I'm not sure they do clean up everyday. The safety box didn't work. There were dirty stains in the towels and the bed cover sheets.
We really wish the house keeping manager to revise his tasks and pay more attention to every details otherwise the whole five star fresh and smiling resort will loose its reputation.
