“Beautiful property, great location, exceptional staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2013

We recently stayed for a family wedding. The Mia Resort is everything you'd want plus more. The rooms are spacious and clean, staff exceptionally friendly and willing to assist with your every request and always with a smile on their face. The food is fabulous. The Resort is aprox 20 min drive from city of Nha Trang however there is a courtesy bus three times a day that takes guests/picks them up so you have easy access to sights and shopping in Nha Trang. I have no hesitation recommending the Mia Resort, it is quality plus. Thank you Cindy and your fabulous team for making our stay and the family wedding an event to remember. Am already planning my return visit next year!

Room Tip: The rooms up on the hill overlooking the ocean are stunning. Have four posted beds and private plung...

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Mia Resort as part of our Southeast Asia honeymoon. We stayed the later part of November so we experienced a lot of rain. But since we were there for peace and quiet and stayed in one of the ocean front villas, we really did not mind getting a little wet. The staff on the property was very friendly. The room was beautiful and was cleaned nicely every day. The main pool was large and beautiful. The plunge pool was small but clean and pretty deep for a plunge pool.

We really appreciate the complimentary shuttle that takes you in to town and back to the resort. It runs 3 times a day. We also appreciate that Mia is 30 minutes outside of Nha Trang city because it provided the tranquility and amazing view that makes a fantastic vacation.

Everything was well deserving of a 5 start hotel except for the restaurants, both Sandal and Mojito. The first night we were there we enjoyed the traditional Vietnamese hot pot night at Sandal. That was actually very fun and delicious. A bit pricey but the food was great and a very fun experience.

Breakfast was mediocre. The most memorable things about breakfast were the noodle soup, fresh grape and guava juices.

Service during dinner however can be super, super, super slow. One night we had dinner at Sandals and it took 30 minutes for our spring rolls appetizer to come out and another hour plus for our pork belly and shaky beef entrees to come out. My husband also had a really nice watermelon salad except for the fact that it came out on a hot plate. The pork belly was terrible… it was not tender and lacked a lot of flavor. The shaky beef had a lot of flavor but the quality of beef (super chewy) was not up to par for a 5 star hotel. The restaurant manager however compensated us by offering 2 free Vietnamese buffet vouchers. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but I wish we didn’t go to the Vietnamese buffet and just ate in town. The food was so so and there were several repeats of dishes (savory crepe) in the dinner buffet that were served during the breakfast buffet.

On another night my husband and I had dinner at Mojito and ordered the pho and burger. The manager brought over one table setting. She then proceeded to bring the Thai Salad out instead of the burger. Because of the heavy rain we decided to move from the outdoor table to the bar. The team was super sweet about the move and helped us bring all of our stuff inside. We also ordered a mojito which the manager had forgotten to tell the bar tender about. She asked us our drink order again and then proceeded to tell the bartender in front of us that she had forgotten to put in our order. On the bright side the pho and the burger were amazing! I know it sounds crazy to order a burger in Vietnam but it was so delicious… the buns tasted super fresh and the burger had great flavor.

I think that they need to figure out how to run the restaurant in a more efficient manner. That should fix all their problems. Everything else was fantastic and we truly miss our honeymoon at Mia.

We recently had the absolute treat of staying at Mia Resort for 6 nights, in part to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, but also to provide the rest component of our r and r visit to Vietnam. After enjoying the madness of Ho Chi Minh City and the charm of Hoi An (and its shopping opportunities) Mia was to be our opportunity to relax at the end of our 3 week trip. We stayed in a garden villa and were absolutely delighted with its spacious layout and with its lovely private outdoor area (outdoor lounging, a hammock, and sunloungers with its own grassy lawn). It was just beautiful. The Housekeeping staff had decorated the bed with towel swans and rose petals, and left fruit and champagne in recognition of our anniversary. In all our travels we had never seen such magnificent manicured gardens and perfect lawns. We absolutely loved the food at both venues and really enjoyed our little hike up the hill to Mojitos for happy hour (and beyond). Yes, the food was more pricey than in many restaurants etc, but it was fantastic food, perfectly executed and brilliantly presented. Staff at both venues and in general were welcoming, well trained and just lovely people. Veronika did a great job looking after us several times at Mojitos. We were enjoying the ambience of the resort so much that on Day 4 we realised that, with the exception of taking the shuttle into town and checking out the main tourist area, we hadn't seen anything much of Nha Trang. Soon fixed! Then back to the excellent Mia!

Room Tip: We loved the garden villa. Just beautiful!

we booked our first 2 nights in the sea view condo and 2 nights in the cliff villas. The condo we stayed had a big patio for you to chill out and we were happy to get what we've paid for .

Cliff villa was stunning and we spent most of our day in our own pool. Buffet got a great variety of choices and we loved the breakfast very much . You also had the flexibility to have your breast fast at your own room which is what we did on our last day.

Mia is an absolutely beautiful resort with some of the best resort design features I have ever seen. From elegant water features in every room, pool, spa, restaurant and space to perfectly manicured gardens, this is truly 5 star.

The only few downsides are super expensive food, drinks and spa. In Vietnam this generally isn't an issue as the town has everything at cheap rates, but Mia is a good 40 minute shuttle (only 3 times a day) or a 30 minute taxi ride each way. Whilst transport isn't expensive it's hard to justify the time when you just want to duck out for lunch.

The beach is fantastic although unmonitored. But don't listen to the travel sites saying December is the best time to travel. Yes it's dry and not as hot, but in reality it's cold and the most windy month. Private pools were not utilised as it was cold. The better months were the wetter months, noting with high humidity, the rain is generally at night anyway with rare days of rain never falling consecutively.

We recommend the beach suites for proximity to the water and privacy, although all of the suites looked very similar. The designs are luxurious, the bedding top quality, the food is both authentic local and tourist food (you have to ask for a Vietnamese menu as they assume you will want western food), and the best part was the amazing staff and service! Better than any neighbouring country such as Thailand by far.

On a side note, if you do visit, the resort also organises day tours. Unlike almost every other resort I have stayed at, Mia does not charge a hefty fee for organising this for you, and they have great guides with fantastic English.

We stayed in a Cliff Villa in early November and had an amazing experience. Our room had beautiful views of the ocean, the food was delicious, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. And as it was our honeymoon, we received a complimentary bottle of champagne upon check-in.

There were also a number of extra free activities that we took up such as Tai Chi on the beach, and Vietnamese cooking and language classes. But most of the time we were happy to just relax at our villa by the pool and enjoy the peace and quiet. You can also hop onto a free shuttle bus that takes you to Nha Trang city, but most of the time you won't want to leave the resort. It was truly a relaxing and unforgettable vacation for us. We would highly recommend this place to others.

Top notch service and beautiful resort. Fit for people who Are looking for a quiet vacation. We love our room and the clean outdoor/indoor shower, great view of the ocean. The entire resort felt green, peaceful and tastefully decorated.

I personally wasnt a fan of the restaurants (food too salty, tend to be overcooked). staff handled it very professionally and fixed my overcooked fish (inedible, could not cut it with my knife). My suggestion is to order non vietnamese dishes.

Laundry service was excellent and reasonably priced. Clothes came back very clean ( didnt think possible after my mud bath).

Some tips for people who are considering staying here:
- 350k vnd for cab to the city ($25), 300k vnd to the airport
- only 3 rounds of shuttle service a day
- there is not many free activities at the resort, if you're the type who can't sit on the beach or hang out in your room all day (no jacuzzi, tennis court, etc typical for a resort). Tv is nicely updated with new movies and shows though.
- ask staff for extra flip flops. Villas can get very sandy.

I would stay here again.
