Thought we'd died and gone to heaven! We only had two nights here and could have stayed a month. From the moment we stepped off the speedboat after an adventurous 15 minute ride from the mainland, we were greeted warmly by staff and particularly our butler Tran. What a gem! Our first thought was "what do Australians do with a butler?" however we soon appreciated her thoughtfulness and meticulous care and concern for us. ie. providing a plate of freshly picked aloe vera to put on our sunburn after we'd been on a snorkling tour. The concept of individual butlers instead of reception is excellent. The staff make each guest feel special and TJ the Manager ensures that everyone is comfortable and well looked after. We had a hilltop villa and loved the privacy and views, although there is a lot of up and down stairs as the villa is on several levels. Loved the private plunge pool. Saw a couple of lagoon villas and as they are all on one level, that would be a good option in future. Our Beach BBQ was excellent, more food than we could possibly manage but a wonderful evening. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and covered with mosquito nets. (We even saw a firefly attach itself to the nets). Breakfast every day was superb, freshly juiced apples and wonderful pastries and breads.

Stayed for 7 nights in a Lagoon Villa end of August
- Positives
Lovely romantic setting
Perfect infinity pool
Good selection of food and activities
Absolutely fantastic villas and kit
Staff truly exceptional - thanks Phong!
Good to also meet TJ the managing partner, obviously knows his stuff and i think he is driving the success of An Lam Ninh Van Bay. Thanks for the HK recommendations too.
Gets 5* for all the added and unrequested extras which i will keep a surprise

-Negatives
If you go for a swim be aware the bay is not crystal clear and muddy if you go further out
If you try to swim to the sunbathing platform in the bay you can easily tear yourself up on the shallow coral - probably needs to be marked
TV film on demand system was a little garbled every 5 -10 mins

Much obliged for taking your time out in providing us with your feedbacks. Unfortunately, our beach is naturally that way and has corals and an underlying mineral deposits that makes the beach water look murky at the shallow end, however, if you go out further, it is nicer and should be fine. It is very satisfying to see that you noticed our extra touches throughout the resort. It is our philosophy that small things are those that truly set us apart from our competitors. I hope you found my HK recommendations useful and had a good time.

In regarding our TV on demand problem, we do truly apologize for this. Being out in a remote peninsula, we basically had to set up our TV and wireless system by way of beaming satellite waves from mainland. Because of this, sometimes due to bad weather (i.e. rain or strong wind) will cause disruption of the signal. We have adjusted and fixed certain glitches and hopefully will have no further problems.

Once again, thank you for choosing An Lam Villas as your retreat destination.

I stayed just one night at this fabulous villa resort in the idyllic Ninh Van bay. However, my overnight train arrived from Saigon at about 5am and the management was incredibly kind in arranging for my pick up at that ungodly hour and in making my suite available straight away for me to catch up on some much-needed Zs!
Thereafter, things just got better. The food was exceptionally good, the beach and the resort are both stunning but most of all it was the charming and personal service that makes this place stand out. It is one thing to provide western levels of service, but it is another thing to do this whilst managing to maintain the natural Vietnamese charm and smiliness! An Lam have managed to achieve this. Long may it continue!
Best of luck for the future: I will be back!
Thanks to all.

Room Tip: I stayed in a hillside villa which I preferred to the beachfront ones. Views are spectacular and you...

Thank you for your review and comments. It is always a pleasure to welcome and pick up our guests anytime, anywhere, anyplace and good to hear that you had time to catch up on your rest. It was unfortunate that your time with us was so short but also gratifying to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us as well as what the resort has to offer in the short time you were here. Hopefully you can come back to visit us again in the near future for a longer stay and really “indulge” and take full advantage of what An Lam Villas has to offer. Let us know in advance and we will ensure the repeaters benefits are extended to you

Looking forward to welcoming you back at our resort.

We saw the Villas review in a newspaper and immeditely thought it might be good - no, it was wonderful. From the moment the staff met you at the wharf until they waved you goodbye it was amazing. There are villas on the lagoon and some hidden in the treetops. None are far from th beaach (about 20 metres) and the eating and relaxing part of the resort. The villas in the trees are far more private, each with their own swimming pool. Food was excellent and the staff were so considerate. You can choose to be on your own or stop for a chat at the bar - they cater for all needs. The romantic dinner on the beach was one of many highlights. The rooms very really comfortable. We will definitely go back.

Room Tip: Definitely have a dinner on the beach

Thank you very much for your detail review . The Hill Tops are an amazing option if you like the sun, complete privacy , and as well a good view of the bay . It was purpose built and designed as a huge Tree House .

In such remote resorts , it is vital that the food & beverage offerings are excellent and well priced
We also do weekly events to bring the Nha Trang Street Food to the resort , as well as BBQs and Vietnamese nights to ensure our guests are kept entertained

I look forward to welcoming you back to the resort

We stayed here for 6 nights in July after having spent a wonderful, but rather exhausting, week touring North Vietnam. This was our chance to relax.

The transfer from Cam Rahn International Airport by car to the hotel jetty took us approximately 1 hour. The road was good and we were afforded the opportunity to see the city of Nha Trang on the way. On arrival at the jetty, along with a cold towel and complimentary beverage, we were given a customer profile to fill out. This set the tone for the rest of our stay and included questions regarding our dietary requirements, wine and beer preferences, music choices and whether we required a discrete or more involved butler service. The 10 minute transfer by boat across the bay to the resort was delightful and upon arrival we were met by a welcoming committee.

As soon as we arrived we were looked after by our butler, the lovely My, who organised all our activities and anticipated our every need during our stay. As well as us, she was also responsible for another 3 villas which no doubt kept her very busy, but she was always available for any queries we had and greeted us at breakfast every morning with a smile.

The attention to detail is what sets An Lam above other resorts and a particularly nice touch was the carved wooden plaque hanging from the gate of our villa which bore our name. The complimentary toiletries were also lovely as was the fruit which was left in our villa each day.

Our Lagoon Villa (no. 9) was the closest one to the restaurant but we rarely heard any noise from that quarter and we had the added benefit of being close to all the facilities. We therefore had no need for the bicycles used by some other guests who were a little further away. The villa was equipped to a high standard with very effective air conditioning in the bedroom, a DVD/TV, a good sound system, tea and coffee making facilities, and a well-stocked wine fridge. The bed was, without doubt, the most comfortable of our entire three week trip. The private plunge pool was deliciously cool during the extreme heat of the afternoon as were the selection of day beds, swings and loungers positioned in and around our villa and throughout the rest of the resort. Needless to say, we did not stray far from our 'home' all week.

As is to be expected in a natural setting where the villas are open to the elements, we had a few little visitors during our stay despite the valiant efforts of the staff to keep the villas bug free. Our most welcome visitors were the geckos and the cat and her 5 kittens who visited our garden during the day and kept us amused with their antics.

The ratio of guests to space is incredibly generous and we rarely saw any of the other guests except on the sunset cruise, at the cocktail party and at mealtimes. This brings me to the restaurant which offered a good selection of meals throughout the day and where, on our first night, we enjoyed a delicious seafood buffet with fresh lobster. The delightful Executive Chef, Briony, had previously worked at our favourite restaurant in Sydney, The Bathers Pavilion, and all the dishes were up to their high standard.

The spa, where I enjoyed a manicure, pedicure and massage, was perfectly fine although, with only a couple of staff members in attendance, it was extremely busy so it is recommended you book as soon as you get there. Prices were equivalent to those in Sydney.

We also took advantage of the library which has a small selection of books in various languages. We borrowed a couple of books while there and returned them along with one of our own books in a bid to boost their collection.

The highlight of our stay was the welcome afforded to us by all the staff who, without exception, contributed to creating a special atmosphere. Most of the staff are local and everyone seemed to genuinely care about our enjoyment while we were there.

During our stay we were asked what we would change to make our stay even more perfect and, by way of constructive criticism, I think that we would suggest that more beauty therapists are employed in the spa in order to accommodate all guests, that the waiting staff in the restaurant are taught English or Russian (spoken by many of their guests) as misunderstandings arose at times due to lack of language skills on both sides, and that a facility be provided where you can purchase snacks or ice cream as the closest retail outlet is a boat ride away. Other than this I wouldn’t change a thing. We will be back.

Thank you very much for the detailed review and as well for being our guests . I am happy to hear you notice the attention to details where we place allot of emphasis on . Our goal here is to provide absolute luxury in a very subtle and quiet way within a very local, rustic eco friendly environment . It's like having all the luxuries you ever want but in a local traditional fishing village !

The maximum capacity An Lam Villas can take is only 80 guests in a resort that is 35 hectares large . Our guest to staff ratio is 4 staff to 1 guest to ensure service levels are attained . The key reason for such ratios is to ensure we maintain the balance of the environment and the tranquility of the bay

Briony & My says Hi and sends their regards . I do look forward to welcoming you back soon . Thanks again for being our guests

My wife and I spent 4 nights here in a lagoon-front villa, as part of a general tour of Vietnam. The owners have done an exceptional job in presenting a resort with extensive luxury features, yet remain secluded and under-stated. The villa could not be faulted, having everything including a cute swing (yes, swing) in the huge bathroom. The butler service was discreet, yet efficient. The central area has a lovely beachside/poolside restaurant, with a wonderful range of dishes, as well as theme cuisine each evening. The overall service cannot be faulted from the warm welcome to our sad goodbyes, with any question or request meticulously followed up (unlike general Vietnam experience). Very minor criticisms are; there's no little ice cream / snack bar, so take a few munchies for when you get peckish; The snorkeling is no good off the resort beach, so you need to take the excursion which is chargeable (the very nearby excursions should really be gratis I feel); and the themed dinners are great but a little too pricey (under $25 pp would get a lot more takers). Personally I feel a week would be the max time to enjoy this 'out-of-the-way' resort, especially if your holiday budget is limited, but for a few days of true pampering, I couldn't really fault it. PS The Nha Trang airport has recently moved out of the city, and is now a 35 km journey, so ensure you leave enough time and cash for the transfer!

Thank you very much for your constructive comments . I live here at the resort a good portion of the month and must agree with you that we definitely a " munchies - ice cream - snack bar " . I will definitely put this into next year's budget and develop this . Thank you so much for highlighting this. In the meantime , I will have Chef develop a " munchies" menu for all Villas for our guests convenience .
Thanks again for being my guests and I do look forward to welcoming you back soon .
