We had a great great stay at Michelia hotel.

Definitely worth 4 stars by westerner standards, almost 5.

Excellent service, clean, nice rooms, modern, pretty good breakfast (mostly designed for Russians though).

Private beach was nice.

Only bad thing is the location which is a bit far from the restaurant and bars area. Not a lot going on around the hotel. A taxi would cost between 4 and 6 US dollars round trip. We rented a motorbike for 5 dollars a day which was an excellent deal to get around.

I would definitely go back!

Dear backpack_fever82,

Greetings from Michelia Hotel!

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback after your recent visit at Michelia Hotel. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay at our Michelia Hotel!

We are located in the City Center with 1 minute walk to the beach, nearby the main market and many restaurants. Maybe you prefer to go to foreign town which is just 1.5 km away from our hotel.

Once again thank you for taking time to share your wonderful feedback and looking forward to serve you again in the near future.

All the best,

Michelia Team

I have just returned from a two week holiday in Veitnam and booked two rooms at the Michelia.
The bathrooms are a joke, they have put in a glass window looking straight into the bedroom area to let light in as they are so pokey.
The shower is over the bath with the bath ridge sitting 2in above so the water from the shower flows around the rim and onto the floor like a waterfall!!!!
Carpets are very worn and stained, including at the front desk. It would be better if they were either tile or put floating floor boards on the floor for cleaning purposes.
The swimming pool area is great with a large pool and at 6pm they project songs/artists clips on the big screen at the back of the pool.
Our second room had a massive spider problem with thousands of tiny spiders everywhere including in the bed!!! After trying to fix it with copious sprayings my son was shifted.
One particular staff Huie was an absolute treasure her attitude and smile was infectious.
The hotel is 90% occupied by Russians.

Booked as part of our 3 week travels in Vietnam. Stayed in room 602 for 5 nights. Our ‘double’ bed was 2 singles pushed together, but with 2 x single bed duvets on top of sheets which hardly tucked under the mattress. The top sheet was papery & rough. The valance sheet had never seen an iron. One side of the bed had a cabinet, but that on the window side had nothing to place items on. There was also 1 vaguely comfortable chair, a table, desk, dressing table & chair. The room overlooked the swimming pool, town & on to the hills, facing south. No morning sun, as it had passed over the hotel at that time of year. There was a flat screen TV & free wifi.

The wet bathroom was good. Toiletries were provided, as were many towels – located on a towel shelf in the shower & we had to move them before showering to keep them dry. There was a hand held & a rain shower. There was a window in the shower, looking in to the bedroom, covered with a blind. There was no hanging space for damp swimwear. We could hear the noise of water from the rooms above when they showered & flushed.

The room had lots of UK style 3-pin & universal electrical sockets. The house coats provided were brief & narrow – Bond girls wore more-substantial items of clothing! The slippers provided were good.

There is no bar area. When we wanted a beer, we were told to go in the restaurant & sit at a table, or go by the pool.

One of the lifts closed on the 4th person to enter/exit. The tiles in the hallways picked up everyones footsteps & suitcase wheels.

Breakfasts! OK, the food provided was diverse & plentiful. The coffee was exceptionally strong & very gritty. The fruit juices were very sweet & syrupy. Some of the pastries had garlic sausage in them. What we couldn’t understand was the lack of heat under the hot foods! 2 mornings we were down at 6am – hot food out, but so were the flames, The food was cold. On our last morning (7.30am breakfast) we saw burners under the hot food, & actually ate hot food. We didn’t like the restaurant being used as a kids playground – various parents ate & ignored their kids who went round touching food & putting it back. This happened most mornings, different parents & kids.

Happy hour was at the pool from 5pm – 8pm. They projected music videos onto a wall - & it was noisy. 3 hours of noise. During our stay, the hotel hosted several weddings. Guests everywhere, plus their music. It was off putting, but some how we managed to sleep OK. On our last evening, there was the sound of very bad karaoke (2 hours of it!) – not from the hotel.

We ate our evening meals outside the hotel – Martinez just round the corner & a local BBQ place along the road.

There was wifi for guests.

Have put in some negatives - maybe just our personal preferences & what was going on/who was staying at the same time. It was a good hotel & we'd stay there again.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Nha Trang. We had stayed at Sheraton and at Havanna, both 5 star hotels, but because of full occupancy we had to find a new hotel. And luckily for us, we chose Michelia Hotel. It is rated as a four star hotel, but in our opinion it is well worth 5 stars of excellence! In fact the service here was far better than that of the 5 star hotels we stayed at. We stayed in a Executive suite with a fantastic panorama view of the sea. Fantastic breakfast, pool and service! A special thanks to Phuong at reception. She made us feel very welcome and gave us fantastic service. This hotel is highly recommended!

This hotel is very badly misrepresented, it states that you can sleep 4 in a room and allows you to book a room for 4 people, yet apparently 4 are supposed to share 1 bed. That may be what other cultures do but when your husband is 6ft4" and big built and your 7 year old son is already as big as most average 11 year olds this clearly wasn't going to work. After much arguing with the staff they agreed I could fit one extra bed in the room but I must pay for it. Not happy with having to pay extra I asked to speak to the manager, well 1.5 hours later we were still waiting. As this was our only night in nha trang city we didn't want to waste anymore time and so ended up having to pay the extra for the rollaway bed, so now we had 2 beds, ended up sharing with my 2 kids draped all over me all night whilst hubby got his own (small) rollaway bed.
Safe in the room didn't work, the shower flooded the bathroom floor so badly we had to use all supplied towels to try and mop it up but still had water everywhere, the rooms are tiny, (I've travelled extensively throughout Europe so I'm used to small rooms but this only just fit 2 beds with no walking room). Carpets very old and badly stained.
Restaurant staff had no clue, whilst waiting to speak to manager we ordered drinks & lunch, despite there being very clearly 4 people sat at the table, only 2 drinks were given out of the 4 we ordered. Yes I am aware that Nha trang tourism is aimed almost solely at Russians (all menus etc are in Russian) but surely wait staff can count to 4 in English?
After 3 weeks of travelling round Vietnam with my family this is the only bad hotel experience we've had so I guess we should be lucky but I am very glad we only stayed here 1 night

Room Tip: Don't stay here if you have more than 2 people

Dear “tralveholicassie”,

Greetings from Michelia Hotel Nha Trang!

Thank you for choosing our property for your vacation, and thanks for your comment about the property. First of all, we truly apologize for these inconveniences you had during your trip. Due to the misunderstanding information on the website, I would like to re- inform that we have room for 4 guests available at the hotel (room with 2 queen beds).

However, the normal price we charge for only 2 guests, if there were 4 guests in a room, we have to charge extra person according to hotel policies. Regarding to other issues at the hotel, we check the room amenities daily by Duty Manager and Housekeeping associate. We believe that all the room amenities are in good condition.

With concern to the restaurant associates, we were sorry for the annoying issue that you had. We have classes of training about F&B skills as well as English are organized everyday by our training manager. We do assure that the issue you raised will not happen anymore in the forthcoming time.

Once again we do hope that you accept our apologies. It will be an honor to welcome you back to Michelia Hotel for your next vacation in Vietnam.

Warm Regards,

Hotel Manager
