Everything is as you'd expect in Nha Trang coffee wise. The ice cream is grainy in texture and too sweet but there is a saving grace here... The lemon meringue pie 50k VND is delicious. Crispy pastry base, zingy lemon and sweet fluffy meringue on top.... So good it prompted a review, don't usually bother with cafés!

I visited the La Parisienne on Nguyen Thien Thuat. I had a banana and chocolate pancake which was just okay. The flavours were very nice but it took the assistant a long time to make it, and consequently it was delivered to me cold. I was disappointed by the food hygiene here - a dog was in the restaurant, there were a lot of bugs and whilst we were sat there a young child (probably related to the woman in charge) came and swigged from a bottle of water that she had just poored drinks for us from. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Great to have local flavours in an informal setting (you actually sit in the street, like in Europe: refreshing!). Service was good and it was really good value.

There's actually like, five of these shops within a 1km radius of each other. Each one is pretty much the same fare, with the same menu, just with a different atmosphere. There's two on Tran Quang (hotel and across the street), Nguyen Thien Thuat, Hung Vuong, and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai. The hotel and Hung Vuong are probably the nicest ones, with comfy chairs and tables for your dining pleasure.

I like the idea of this cutesy Parisian-style cafe, but one thing it suffers from is the lackluster ice cream. The scoops are pretty dang tiny, and unfortunately, like many places in Nha Trang, the ice cream also suffers from improper refrigerator and freezer burn. Most of the time I've had ice cream at La Parisienne, the little scoops I get will often have a coat of ice crystals on one side with the other side melting at an alarming rate. When you're able to eat it in the 2 minutes before it melts, the ice cream is quite tasty, but there is definitely better ice cream (like Romy's) to be had. The banana split is pretty small, too, but it costs just 10,000 dong more than two scoops of ice cream, and you get the fruit and chocolate sauce.

The pastries are pretty good. I've only had a few things, but the chocolate croissant was sweet and buttery and flaky, and there was actually a good blob of choco inside. Some of the prices are a bit steep, but I wonder how difficult it is to procure the ingredients for stuff like cheesecake and carrot cake?

The drinks are okay. The Vietnamese-style coffee is steep at 25,000 and the iced latte (35,000) looks suspiciously the same but for a higher price.

The staff have always been friendly, no matter what location I've been to.

This definitely isn't the most mind-blowing pâtisserie nor ice cream shop, but it can satisfy a small ice-cream craving and it offers some other desserts you may not find elsewhere.
