Good hotel to stay in Hue. We turned up on the day with no advance booking - luckily they had a room available. The room was excellent, very nice bathroom, clean, and even a nice view out to the river. The breakfast was very good the next morning, and we hired the hotel bicycles to cruise out to some of the tombs and pagodas. Probably the nicest place we stayed in Vietnam (on a budget of around $20 -$25 per night) Recommended.

As we walked down the dusty lane to the Holiday Hotel we were having second thoughts. Then out bounced one of their delightful freindly staff to assist with the bags and we were welcomed into this delightful hotel. Fantastic value. The service and cleaniness are the key here. Breakfast is adequate, eggs how you want them and a baguette, jam and butter with juice, coffee or tea. But there are ample options around for eating and it is a great location.

Ignore the laneway location, Hue is a safe, freindly town. It is a 40 to 60 thousdand Dong taxi (depending on how hard you bargain) from the train station if you came that way, too far too walk . Once there you are close to the river boats, the Citadel is walkable, about 20-30 minutes.

Holiday Hotel's staff made all the difference. They were always in good spirit and helpful to a fault. The alleyway location of the hotel probably adds to the quiet, though it would be good if the cleaning staff were more aware of when we got up (which was generally late) because sometimes we'd be awakened by their knocking at the door. This would be near 10 a.m., so not a problem for most (early rising) travelers. The breakfast (egg, baguette, coffee, fruit) while not varied was tasty. Our room was comfortable, good hot water, good TV reception (with DVD player) and A/C. It wasn't dark either. The rental of bicycles (USD 2/day) was appreciated - the bicycles were better than most we've rented. We would stay again.

After some days around Vietnam, we thought we would find a dirty and horrible hotel because it was the cheapest one we had booked. What a wonderful sorprise that was the best. Clean rooms and friendly staff. You will feel as if you were at home. If some day I come back to Hue, I will definitely stay at Hue Holiday Hotel.

Its an amazing place for the price you pay and it still would be wonderful even if it was more expensive. The staff is very friendly, polite and funny. The rooms are wonderful, the bathroom ist excellent, its absolutely clean everywhere. The hotel is located in a side street which has the plus of not being noisy, at the same time it is close to everything. From shampoo to very well functioning aircon you have everything you need there and its well cared of everything. Even if I try hard, there is nothing negative to say about that place.
