We were one night at the Orchid enroute from Hoi An to Hanoi. The hotel is located in an area of restaurants and hotels for tourists. The welcoming staff was attentive and energetic, and helped with all questions and needs. Breakfast included fresh fruit and the attention of Ms. Thuy. She brightened the day immediately. The rooms are somewhat tired, but clean.

This hotel has warmth of personality written all over it. We had taken the overnight sleeper from Hanoi so were ready for a good shower and rest before we got going on our 3 days in Hue. The staff were consistently warm and friendly, particularly Thuy, who made breakfast time a real treat. She was attentive and caring and nothing was too much trouble. She really wanted you to feel comfortable and smiled throughout. The room was really excellent and each day exquisite sculptures were made with the fresh towels on the bed!!!! A remarkable touch given how busy everyone must be but yet another example of their attention to detail and customer focus. Perfectly located amidst the cafe area and an easy walk to the main sights.
Stayed here two nights and the staff, especially Thuy who has such a wonderful bubbly personality, couldn't be more welcoming. They really go out òf their way to make your stay extra special. Lots of fresh fruit for breakfast as well as delivering more to your room without your asking. Soup, pastries provided for breakfast and eggs prepared any way you want them. Beds are very comfortable. Good working A/C too. Good location too and for $13 will take you to the airport which ís 30 minutes away. Free computer in room with fast connections.
This hotel is a must. The staff really do go out of there way to help in every way possible. From getting a daily cake\fruit in the room, to a delightful and warm reception, this hotel really was a delight to stay at. Thank you
We stayed in Hue for two nights at Orchid Hotel. After our flight from Ho Chi Minh to Hue was delayed by about two hours, it was a relief that we had already organised by email for a car pick-up from the hotel ($13 USD). We were greeted with welcome drinks before being shown our room, which also had welcome fruits on the table.
The room itself was decent, especially considering how inexpensive the rate was. All the furniture and decor were made of wood, and they did look a bit worn out, especially the window ledges in the bathroom. The room was spacious enough, beds were comfortable, and we also had a small balcony. Our room had a desktop computer, but of course there is also free wifi anyway for your own devices. Breakfast is in their dining room - small selection but reasonable quality and personal service.
The best part for us was actually the tour we booked through the hotel. We only really had one proper day in Hue, and booked a group tour to visit the imperial tombs (~15km out of town, too deserted for taxis), as well as the imperial citadel, the Thien Mu Pagoda, and lastly a boat ride down the Perfume River. Having been on a few tours throughout our time in Vietnam with various companies, this was definitely our best one. For only $15 USD per person, we got to see all the sights in Hue. Our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and we never felt rushed. It was very good use of our day, and I highly recommend it.
Tidy hotel in a perfect location for walking to the attractions. Really comfortable bed and pillows. The highlight of the stay was the staff who were really friendly from the outset and nothing was too much trouble. Cam has a fantastic sense of humor and put us at ease as soon as we arrived. The staff really wanted our stay to be great and they achieved it. If in Hue again I would stay here without hesitation. Breakfasts were fresh and plentiful and the staff greeted you by name each time they met you. Couldn't fault our stay.
