“Excellent choice for budget hotel in central Hue location.”
Reviewed March 11, 2012

Just stayed 3 nights at this hotel and liked the hotel very much due to the efficiency of the staff, nice included breakfast and the central location. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable.
Staff were the most professional and cheerful we found in our 3 weeks in Vietnam. Always attentive and eager to please.
The breakfast was basically anything on the breakfast menu. At $20 per night for 2 people this was a real benefit. We typically ordered omelets, baguettes with cheese, butter and jam, coffee and tea, juice and a fruit dish. After all that we never had to search for a lunch place until well after noon.
The location enabled us to walk all around central Hue and to walk to the Citadel and Imperial Palace on our own. We spent the entire afternoon at the Citadel/Palace right after check-in, freeing up the next 2 days of our stay for other tours and activities. The Hanh Cafe bus stops right in front of the hotel so it is very convenient for arriving and traveling onwards after Hue.
But perhaps the best thing about the location is the excellent restaurant right to the left as you enter the hotel front doors (right on the street not down the alley). We ended up eating there 3 nights due to excellent Vietnamese dishes that were very economically priced, wide selection of cheap cold beers and the nice people running the place. Met one of the ladies running the place the first night and had some pleasant conversations with her every day after. Our thanks to her for her excellent advice on the local specialties she recommended off their menu. My favorite was the Nem Lui; outstanding! Also met a lot of interesting world travelers there (Swiss, Brazilians, Scandinavians, etc.) who we enjoyed sharing information with. I will review this restaurant in full when I have a moment to dig their card out of my bag.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back will be much quieter. They have a lift so easy to access even the upper floors.

I stayed at the Binh Minh Sunrise Hotel for 2 nights.
The hotel is in a good location, is clean and the staff are very helpful but not overly pushy. The room I had was very clean, it was tidied everyday and the laundry service was very efficient! The breakfast was a good choice of food and drinks, the widest options I had in my 2 weeks in Vietnam.
I would stay in this hotel again!

My friend was sick while we stayed in Hue and while I told her to have a glass of cement, the hotel staff were more than accommodating in looking after her.

The staff were overly helpful, but not pushy. The room was pretty decent for the price you pay.

This is the only place to stay in Hue!

This is a good hotel for the money you pay. Great location, pretty much in the centre of everything. Very friendly staff who are always helpful (and good with English). There are better hotels and also worse! Recommended, depending on your budget.

Staff are genuinely friendly & helpful, room was clean and comfy (although not furnighed to my taste - think 1970's floral); comfy bed, good ac, kettle & tea/coffee making facilities and attached shower was clean. Was also good price incl breakfast although the breakfast wasn't really up to much. We were next to a little outdoor balcony where you could enjoy the night air with a beer & other guests so was nice.

Overall would recommend.

We were not planning on staying in Hue but thanks to some bus problems we had to. This hotel was Lonely Planets top choice so we thought we would try it out. The rooms were clean and had by far the softest beds we've seen in Asia. We had one sunny day and rented a motor bike from the hotel. It was a little expensive at $10 USD but it was brand new so we went for it. This hotel is also located a short walk from all of Hue's top restaurants and just a few minutes away from the river. I would recommend this if you are looking for a budget hotel. We paid $16 USD for a double room including a good free breakfast.

The hotel is far from the tourist part, very dark area, i didnt feel safe in the area, one night we went out to bar in town and got a Cyclos back to our hotel which they dropped us off at this hotel by mistake, the 2 guys robbed me and my partner, i noticed straight away and held onto their bikes whilst i asked the guys in the hotel to ring the police. but the hotel just closed the shutters on me and my partner. we where in the rain no money no phone and it was very scary. finally after about 45mins we found our wallet hidden under a brick, the guys started following us so we came across another hotel who let us in and to call the police. It was not the best service i have come across. and thank god for the other hotel.
It was prob bad luck, the hotel might be nice inside and i know now never to get Cyclos at night.

Room Tip: not sure didnt stay here
