I first went to this place several years ago when it first opened. What a fine place it was. It has seen some traffic since then and in some ways it shows. A few repairs here and there and it could be restored to it's former glory! Good views from the upper floors. Close to the amenities that count and the famous bridge and riverside market. Still reasonably priced and the service is generally OK. BUT. Do not book any trips from them. We booked a coach to go to Laos. We Explained that we had had a Seriously bad trip to Hue from Hoi An. We were promised a top class trip to Laos. We paid 'Top Dollar'.................I wanted to go back there and ASSAULT them for their downright deceit. Do NOT TRUST them .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Do NOT book any trips from them. In fact. Do not go there. They ruined a Reputation!

I stayed at Thai Binh Hotel 2 for 6 nights and have to say it was a pleasant exoeriance from day one.
20 dollars a night good value as the rooms were all large and i had a balcony on the 8th floor , access to my room was with a programmed card key that made me feel secure , also in the room is a well appointed bathroom and very hot water, also in the bedroom was a kettle and tea cups a computer with Ethernet connection plus wifi . Flat screen television 30 inch with 2 film channels , This room was well appointed with furniture and wardrobe. The maid serviced my room every day without fail with clean towels and linen
The staff were very friendly and very helpfull , all in all a pleasant place to stay and if in HUE I will certainly return to this hotel.

We stayed at Thai Binh 2 for three nights. The the room was spacious, with a balcony, writing desk and shower over bath - a luxury compared to most budget hotels in SE Asia, where the shower is just in the middle of the bathroom and then your floor gets all wet. We were in a convenient position to explore Hue, walking distance to both the river area and backpacker bar area, and we hired bicycles from the hotel to explore the Citadel and the tombs which are a bit further afield. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and even managed to secure a last minute flight for us when the airline's online booking form wouldn't load (and it was about 11.30pm). The breakfast buffet was also very good, being served on the top level so we could get a great view across the city. Great value for money.

Stayed at this hotel a couple of times and enjoyed my stay very much. Its in a very good location and cheap as chips, I think I paid around $15 to $18 a night for a huge bedroom that even included a bloody big bath tub and a huge balcony. Rooms are fairly clean with comfortable beds with no complaints at all. Only downside was the pretty uninterested desk clerk on my last visit but hey she might of been having a bad day or 2. If you get a chance have a meal down the lane on the corner, you will thank me later.

Room Tip: Have a meal down the lane on the corner, great food and cheap.

The structure of this hotel is very particular, narrow and very high building, nine floors. On the top floor is served buffet breakfast with plenty of choice, and you can enjoy a magnificent view of the imperial city and the river that surrounds it. On foot, the walls can be reached in about fifteen minutes, and is equidistant from the two access bridges. The hotel is well maintained and very clean, has a 24-hour reception and the hotel staff was very friendly. The room is fantastic, equipped with every comfort, television, air conditioning, mini-bar and even a computer, and this was very useful because the Wifi signal was very unstable, while the cable connection was great. Bathroom with bathtub and hairdryer also features; compared to the room, which seems newly renovated, the bathroom appears with some signs of wear, but overall acceptable. The area of Hue in which the greater part of the pub and restaurants are located is five minutes walk away and the area is very quiet and for traffic safety. We used the hotel as a base for a trip to the DMZ, organized with the help of the owner and the bus came to pick us up directly at the hotel ...

We have just left the Thai Binh 2 Hotel in Hue. While some of the more touristy aspects of the city were a bit much for us, this hotel was absolutely fantastic value for money. For around $25 per night we had an enormous double room with high ceilings, dark wood flooring, French windows opening out onto an enormous balcony with great city views (although we were on the 7th floor - you might not get this lower down), constant hot water and even a bath (a rarity at this level). Admittedly the outside of the building and the corridors are a little uninviting but the rooms more than make up for it. Helpful staff will happily give you information about the city and arrange travel for you without going for the hard sell like so many other places either. There was building work going on while we were there which provided a little noise disruption but thankfully this did not go on too long during the day. Recommended.

Arrived here exhausted and really needed a nap, but there was a building site right outside our window.

Rooms were nice enough. Problems with the wifi when we were there which meant it couldn't be accessed in the rooms and had to go and sit in a corridor on another floor to be able to get online. All part of the experience.

Breakfast was a bit odd. There was some choice, but water came from a thermos flask via the girl welcoming you in, and the food was spread out on a large table looking more like an indoor picnic at your great aunties house rather than a hotel. The views were pretty good though and there was plenty to eat.

Within walking distance of shops and restaurants and some really nice hotels close by if you want to go and view sunset from a rooftop bar. Good laundry service, quick and cheap, although one t.shirt from a group member got ruined.

Cheap and cheerful. Okay hotel. Would recommend if the price was right.

Room Tip: try and get on the opposite side of the building work!
