“dont expect it is a special”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

actually , it should be regarded as a community structure rather than a tourist spot. after you settle down, have a walk at night near the river or riding a motor bike passed by would be just ok for a look. Vietnam have such in other city , like Dong Hoi , Da Nang ... local people fully used it so whenever you get close to it , noice , dusty and smell will welcome you.
you can walk on it to across the river , may be stop at Co mart to buy some supplies for your trips , or the Oldest Hotel Morin foranice coffee. Forget such lights , not really spectacular.

You should take a walk there specially at the end of they, during sunset, when is not so hot. Nice views of the city and river. Be aware of maniac drivers (lots of traffic).

“Hey - it's a Bridage”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

It's a bridge. This bridge was in the river during Tet in 1968. It is no great engineering marvel or anything special, but it is a great sight at night and it is a great place to walk. The market on the greater Hue side is worth the visit once you cross the bridge.

“One of the bridges to the Citadel”
Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

Safe walking area cordoned off from traffic which enabled me to cross the river - ie its purpose!

I used this bridge to get to the Citadel. There's another one further up and the Citadel gates are in the middle of the two

This bridge does have some history from the war and its good to be able to look out at the city from on it but it is just a bridge other than that

It's safe and worth a walk across if you want to visit Citadel or shops/ restaurants across the other

“A piece of history”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

My Vietnamese Niece tells me that everyone who is Vietnamese knows about this bridge. As it was unfortunately such a big target during the American War, I was happy to walk across it and think about those times that thankfully are long gone.
