“Pretty bridge”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

We scootered over the bridge during the day...and, well, it was just another pretty bridge :) There were many walkers, so surely it's safe. We did not have the chance to check it out at night, however.

“Safe walkway from busy auto and motorbike traffic”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

The bridge has many different colored lights that constantly change from white to blue to red to green at night. It's a nice stroll across the Perfume River to the Citadel, Imperial City and Hue's large Market - also there's a shopping mall and supermarket at the foot of the bridge. At night many young couples hang out of the bridge's pedestrian path to socialize.

“Love this bridge”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

I have to agree with those who are fascinated by the changing night lighting on the Truong Tien bridge - it's as kitsch as can be and I love it. But the bridge itself has an interesting history. Built at the end of the 19th century it was destroyed by a typhoon early in the 20th century and rebuilt in 1906. It was also bombed during what is here called the American War. So it has been repaired many times. It was re-paved in 2009 and is now in good shape.

It's rare to cross it and not see someone taking photographs. It also serves as a backdrop for wedding photos and fashion shoots.

It can also form the basis of a good trivial pursuit question: What do Paris, Hue and New York have in common? Remarkable structures designed by Gustave Eiffel - The Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty and the Truong Tien Bridge.

“Top bridge”
Reviewed December 25, 2012

Seriously, one of the best bridges I've ever seen. I honestly sat and watched this baby for literally an hour. IT CHANGES COLOUR. Get with the times, the rest of the world.

I'm not even being sarcastic, I freaking loved this bridge!

“Not interesting”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Except if you are a real bridge fetishist, it is only an ugly bridge. It is not impressive by its size, aesthetic or anything else.
