Owner description: The final resting-place of this Nguyen Dynasty emperor and scholar was built before his death. A lake, pavilion and theatre still exist on the grounds.

This was my favourite tomb in Hue. Well worth the visit. Beautiful surroundings and beautiful autumn colours when we visited. It is very peaceful and calming to walk around the area which is quite large and situated on a lake. You will not be disappointed!

By the time my group of 4 got here we were just overwhelmed by information on this tomb and the other things we had seen earlier in the day so probably better to see it at a different time. Architecture kept one of us interested and he,an architect, helped us by explaining how things might have been built and comparing with modern techniques.

Unlike the Minh Mang tomb which is in very good condition, this one is in decrepit state, and while there in no doubt of its grandeur, most of it has to be imagined. It is spread over a vast area, and the pathways are very uneven making walking a bit difficult. So if you want to skip this one and just visit the Minh Mang, you will do fine.

This was a lovely site to visit, peaceful surrounds, with a park like setting. The architecture here slightly older, almost with a Thai feel. The theatre was very interesting as was the temple to his mother. I do hope they never find his real resting place, adds to the mystique.

This king lived and was buried in his place/tomb (he died in 1883)...a lovely, walled space with a lake, pavilion in the centre, buildings for living and a theatre, and behind it all, his tomb
