“Awesome location”

This pagoda isn't big, but its location is simply fantastic, from it you can enjoy an impressive panorama on the Perfume River and the Truong Son mountains. Monks are very nice although it's very crowded. If you visit it you should visit it late afternoon to enjoy the sunset and the charming atmophere.

“an interesting history”

This attraction is also a must in Hue. A very interesting history and with current accommodation for Buddhist monks.

A beautiful location on the Perfume River

“Ok for a quick trip”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

Not a lot to see once you are there, except a pretty Pagoda. It is good for photo opportunities of the Pagoda, the river and beyond. There are lots of steep steps so not good for people with walking difficulties. There are lots of stalls at the bottom of the steps where you are enticed to buy 'touristy' stuff. We went there and back by taxi, it is only a few kms from the citadel or the newer part of the city where the hotels are.

“Nice trip up the river and not too long.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

We very much enjoyed our trip up the river by boat to the pagoda. When you get there the pagoda is actually quite nice and an interesting place to visit. Worth the trip as it is not very far and the river is clean and pretty too. Would recommend this attraction.

“Pretty pagoda”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014 via mobile

The pagoda is quite nice and peaceful. Interesting smaller towers (one has a really beautiful carved turtle-pity about the names carved into it). Nice photo oppprtunities. Interesting to learn about the monk who self immolated in 1963-read up on it before you go. They show the car here. I wouldn't say it's a must see but it's included in most city tours and is free so why not!
