“Beautiful, well preserved Pagoda”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

This pagoda is beautiful, and there are quite a few monks milling about. The gardens around the area are peaceful. The temple also has a neat collection of miniature trees which are worth a look, and there are some awesome painted sculptures of guards. One of the coolest parts of this pagoda? It has the original car in front of which Thich Quang Duc burned himself to death in protest, back in 1963.

“Top of the hill tranquility”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Cruise down the Perfume River from town on a traditional boat, then step off to climb the stairs to the pagoda. Grounds a beautifully maintained and the novice monks quietly go about their work under the supervision of their elders.

“Great symbol of sprit, life and courage”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

This is where the great monk Thich Quang Duc hailed from. He drove a blue car to Saigon (HCMC) to protest against the repression. A mammoth symbol of courage, faith and will. The pagoda houses the car in which the monk drove himself to Saigon. The pagoda also homes the orphaned, they still live, study and practice religion there. It is very heart warming to see the less fortunate being taken care of and being taught invaluable life lessons.. Very calm, peaceful and soothing place to visit and know more of! Great architecture
