Simple and cheap vegetarian food, done well (recommend the Tofu, Lemon and Pepper with sticky rice), but the setting lacks character and the service was perfunctory, if quick. Suspect the 3 stars could be upgraded with just a bit more effort.

Staff is really unfriendly and seems to be more interested in private phone calls than in serving customers. Food was ok though!

I have been a vegetarian for five years and had my share of vegetarian restaurants around the world. I must say that this one has a lot of variety and many dishes I have never seen before. That was very exciting for me.
I went there twice and the first time was all right. Cheap, exciting dishes but my dish tasted bland. I went there the second time to give it another go but got disappointed - especially with the service. Before we had even sat down, the waitress asked if we wanted to have a certain dish that we knew from the previous time to be the most expensive dish on the menu. A bit odd.
My boyfriend and I asked to have the fruit platter for dessert since there was a lovely picture of it on the menu showing all sorts of yummi fruit. It cost as much as our main courses combined. We got two thick slices of pineapple (and pineapple only) that were cut in half... Great waste of money there. We also had to go to another restaurant afterwards so my boyfriend could get full (and he doesn't need much to get full in general).

Luckily, we were recommended this restaurant by our guide, who was also vegetarian, and we weren't disappointed. In Vietnam tofu is a very important part of the vegetarian diet and this was probably the best we were served anywhere (and we certainly sampled a lot of variations). As usual, you can order as many different dishes as you like, but they are quite copius and we found 3 or 4 was enough for the two of us, and every one was delicious. And the prices were pretty tasty too - amongst the lowest we experienced in Vietnam. The place was very easy to find betwen the river and the road close to the Phu Xuan bridge, with a relaxed atmosphere eating al fresco, and the serving staff efficient rather than ebullient.
