“Morin Suite - amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

We stayed at the Saigon Morin as part of our tour, and in arrival, were peasantry surprised to find we were in the Morin Suite. What an amazing room! Beautifully laid out with beautiful decor and two balconies overlooking the Perfume River. Great service and the hotel staff we're friendly and courteous. Will stay again at the Saigon Morin.

This is a classic hotel - you feel the french charm when you walk in the door! The room was very comfortable. A couple of minor things - breakfast was bland. We used the 'spa' for massages - DON'T! There was a lack of quality - more of a rub down than a massage!

While I rated it average, for the area - it is undoubtedly the best the are offers!

We were fortunate to spent our 40th Wedding Aniversary in Vietnam, and it happened to be in Hue, as luck would have it we were booked into the Saigon Morin hotel. As I had not arranged anything before hand, I e-mailed the hotel whilst in Vietnam and asked if they could help me out to surprise my wife and that they did, not only with an excellent romantic dinner for two, Red Roses and many more flowers, a bottle of champagne, a nice cake, and our bed was covered with rose petals in the shape of two hearts and two swans it was just amazing what they did for us. We received cards from the general manager, and a seperate one from the staff. So they made a nice memory for us, we remember the Saigon Morin hotel forever. I can really recommend, the hotel, the staff, the food, and it really is Service with a Smile !!! Thank you all

This hotel is very charming and the rooms are large and comfortable. Other options in Hue did not seem to be better, at least from the outside. The bathroom is fine but could do with a little work - the bath mats are too large for the bath so you slip around in the shower. Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours' conversations and coughing. Breakfast is good. On one day it was served outside in the rain so you needed an umbrella to bring you food back from the buffet - charming or annoying, depending on your frame of mind. Extras are very overpriced, especially water, which can leave you feeling a bit irritated. Best place to eat is to walk to the left along the river bank and eat at the food stalls - excellent fish and seafood at amazing prices.

We loved this amazing, special hotel from the time we entered our gorgeous room to see a table laid with good crockery and some fruit.

Turning round, it was a bit of a shock to see a large open window into the bathroom and its enormous bath. We were pleased to find an equally big shower. A lovely touch was the big pot of bath salts! This meant that almost all our tour group indulged in a soak in the bath.

We were unlucky that Typhoon Nari was baring down on us, so the beautiful outside places were closed. However, we were very well looked after in the upstairs bar, where tables were rearranged for us and our multiple orders, with separate bills were dealt with in a friendly, efficient manner.

The typhoon forced us to stay an extra day! It couldn't have happened in a better place. We managed to get out, shrouded in plastic, as the hotel is so handy for the town.

Loved it!

Saigon Morin a grand historic hotel, this impressive building occupies an entire city block near the south bank of the Pefume River. The hotel offers all the features of a four-star, and has three restaurants, a lovely courtyard cafe-bar with a very reasonably priced bar-food menu, and a swimming pool in the shape of a gourd. My husband and i like here a lot and would be spend more time in here neck holiday, it's really nice!

We stayed one night at the Saigon Morin Hotel on our honeymoon. When we arrived the staff were very friendly and were able to check us in almost straight away. This is possibly because it seemed like there were hardly any other people staying in the hotel at all. When we were taken to our room, down the end of a very long corridor, it felt like the place was empty. The weather was pretty dismal, and we arrived not long after the most recent typhoon, so there was a small amount of damage to the outdoor areas, which was to be expected. The staff were quick to reassure that the hotel was at full function, but that breakfast would be served in the restaurant and not outside as normal. Our room was large and well equipped. The bathroom was very nice.
We had dinner in the restaurant and were disappointed. The serve was lacking, even though there were only a few other diners and lots of staff. The food was average at best. Breakfast was of similar quality - hot food wasn't overly hot and there was a fairly limited selection. There were lots of staff but still a lot of empty plates on tables, and people needing to ask for more coffee and tea.
I imagine in peak season where there are a lot of people around this hotel might have a bit more atmosphere, but I would definitely recommend eating elsewhere.
