Although not our type of hotel (we usually select small, boutique-style hotels), the Saigon Morin is an elegant, majestic hotel in Hue, imbued with history. A beautiful building with a lush interior garden, a grand entrance, very large rooms. Ours overlooked the Perfume river and its surroundings, a lovely view by day or night. The bathroom would benefit from some rejuvenation though, as the water pressure was somehow low and the fixtures looked old. Now, the most memorable thing about the Morin, as rightly displayed nearly everywhere in the hotel, based on a review which had appeared a few years ago, is undoubtedly the breakfast. Set outdoors in the interior garden, it has everything one could dream of for a breakfast or rather a brunch. I was especially keen to try a Vietnamese style breakfast, with dishes that one could hardly find after 11 am, so I went ahead and sampled all what was on offer, not an easy task to accomplish. I was extremely full but extremely satisfied! Go for it, even if you won't be able to eat a thing until the next day, it is well worth it!

We arrived in Hue by plane and were taken to the hotel quite late at night. The staff were very professional and we were soon taken to our very comfortable room with old wooden floors but a very modern bathroom and large comfortable bed. Our only problem was that we would have liked to spend longer here as we only had 2 nights and it was, I think, the best hotel of our stay. The hotel has been very tastefully restored and still has the French colonial feel, making it unusual after the other modern high-rise hotels we stayed in.Breakfast served in the garden was delicious and the whole place had a very relaxing chilled vibe. We were very close to the Perfume River and the night market and not far from the Imperial City. We could not fault the hotel in any way and would recommend it to anyone visiting Hue.

Clean Hotel and room, super location, good view from the upstairs bar - luckily we had a view over the river and bridge and the weather was pleasant enough for an excellent breakfast in the lovely, fountain-centred, courtyard. We followed a lot of tripadvisor recommendations of Nina's Cafe and we were not disappointed - a fixed 5-course meal for £4 and local wine for £5 each! It takes a bit of finding 3 blocks down (after the International Hotel?), especially as some of the directions we were given had the wrong street on the wrong side and it is down an alleyway!

Room Tip: Try to get a high room overlooking the river for a view (unless you hate traffic from the road in fr...

we have just spent three nights at the morin and found it to be a wonderful and excellent haven from the hustle and bustle of the busy city outside. as you will see its a lovingly restored colonial hotel which has been restored to its former glory and easily reflects the high standards expected of this standard of hotel. it looks and feels very much like raffles but much more friendly and we have stayed in raffles. They arranged our airport pick up and our reception at the hotel was very proffessional and charming and we were wisked away to a wonderful room, very spacious with views of the bridge. the room itself was very large indeed, well appointed with everything you would require, beds are a very personal thing, i like a hard bed and we had a firm bed so great. in the court yard is a lovely pool area and a restaurant area both exceedingly well appointed and staffed. there are tour groups in every evening but as they are of the older generation its not a problem at all. I have noted some of the pathetic moans and groans of some contributers which just leave me baffled, they are usually americans who expect america where ever they go, how boring would that be? the staff here are wonderful and doing there very best to provide an excellent service, this is vietnam not europe and that should always be remembered. nothing was too much trouble, we had a local tour arranged for us by the hotel and were most impressed with the guide and vehicle provided, the guide was very knowledgable and added in places of our choice. i cannot fault the location, the impecable, friendly and charming staff a credit to the hotel, nothing was too much trouble and the whole building of a very high standard. i hope you enjoy the hotel as much as we did.

Room Tip: view of the river would be good, it has changing coloured lights through the evening and the road no...

After one month traveling we felt like a bit of pampering so booked into this hotel for two nights. The room was excellent with a soft comfortable bed and pillows, all the amenities expected from this type of property including one of the best bathtubs on the trip! Breakfast was good although the staff could have been more attentive. The pool is a relaxing oasis after a day of sightseeing. I also liked the references to the history of the hotel in every picture lining the hallways.

Luxurious comfortable extra-large room with old world charm. Perfect modern bathroom with all the amenities. Great buffet breakfast in a beautiful garden setting. Friendly staff. Convenient for visiting the Imperial City. We had a very enjoyable stay. Only stayed one night with a tour group. A second night would have been even better!

The Americans apparently had snipers in the front rooms of this hotel, in fact our room (as we had been upgraded!). Good pool. A wonderful surprise when we got back in the evening, Vietnamese dance and music.

Room Tip: Get up graded to a front balcony room.
