On our first night in Hue we had dinner at La Carambole Restaurant. We chose one of the set menus which turned out to be far too much food and not that brilliant. A few of the dishes were very similar. Price was middle range and the menu was aimed for the tourist clientele. Generally on our trip we tended to choose places where the locals ate figuring the food would be good and it usually was. The second night we stumbled upon You and Me. A local cafe. The waitress Thuy showed us the menu which looked appealing - we chose the squid dish plus a couple of other dishes. I can't recall the name but it was very tasty as was the rest of the meal and very cheap. Thuy was very attentive giving great service. She is currently studying English wanting to become a receptionist in a hotel or some other tourism job. So we ended up having a long chat which was very interesting. Her English is very good. All in all it was a great experience with great food.
