“Excellent hotel in Hue”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

The most fantastic friendly and serviceminded hotelstaff I ever stayed with. It's a nice and clean little hotel situated at the end of a very narrow road. Which means very quite with no noice from the evergoing traffic in the city. It's walking distance for all you would like to see in Hue city.
I travelled to Hue with train from Ho Chi Minh City and took a taxi from railway station to the hotel (5$).
From Hue to Hanoi by train leaving at 19.40 which is long after checkout at the hotel. But they secured the luggage and we were given opportunity for a cleansing shower at the hotel in the evening before leaving for the train.

You find everything you need in this cute little room. They even have a small stationary set with stapler, pen, notepad etc. Well, I did not actually use them but it could be very useful for those business travelers I guess. The staff are very nice. They have very warm voices and of course care so much about their guests. Highly recommended!

Superb value hotel.

The room was quite small but well-appointed and had everything we wanted including TV, wifi, airconditioning. The safe was a simple lockbox with a small key. There was no street noise.

My one real gripe with the room was the small shower/bath. At one point I touched my thigh on the hot part of the tap, which wasn't pleasant. I soon learnt to avoid doing that again.

The hotel overall is pretty cosy and decorated in a quirky way. A bit weird at first, but became a bit of fun once you get used to it.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Every time we walked in, they greeted us with a cold drink and would often just sit with us to chat about our adventures. They knew all there was to know about the local sights and organised a day-trip to the Phong Nha Caves for us. On our last day, they organised a custom car/boat tour for us to fit in some last-minute sightseeing before leaving Hue. They also arranged our train tickets to Hanoi (for a small commission, well worth the convenience).

Breakfast was simple but pleasant, usually a warm dish such as noodle soup, fried rice or omelette, along with toast, jam and fresh fruit.

As far as location, the hotel is easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Citadel is about half an hour's walk, or you could take one of the many other transport options to get around. The other sights (such as the pagoda and the various tombs) are further out of the city.

I should mention that the hotel is right at the end of a small alley that also contains a number of other hotels. I didn't mind so much, but my girlfriend didn't enjoy walking in and out at night (we saw the odd rat or two on the streets of Hue).

Overall, yes it's a small hotel and it may not be as luxurious as some, but the value and the quality of the service more than makes up for what it lacks in size.

Room Tip: One of the rooms is on the ground floor, right next to reception and the common area. You probably d...

With trepidation I booked the last available room - the small windowless room. I had heard good things about this hotel and wanted to stay there but I do not like those windowless rooms as I feel like I am in a small concrete prison cell.
I was so suprised when I opened the door to find a nice little room with quirky touches and a lovely decorated bathroom. Wonderful. Mr Nino has an ecclectic sense to life with is reflected in his sense of style throughout the hotel. I loved it.
Loved the friendly attitude by the staff and the small touches such as cold drinks and fruit plates handed to you when you arrive back in the afternoon after a hot day walking around the palace.
Hotel has bicycles to hire and can help with ideas to plan out a day riding around the tombs and countryside.
Good internet connection in reception
Breakfast is included and changes everyday

huenino is a small hotel with lots of creative little things around that make it really unique. staff is incredibly nice, and really, you wouldn't get anywhere more for value for money. rooms are small, but well maintained and clean. little snacks and drinks are served. definitely one of the best places i stayed in vietnam.
