Stayed here for 1 week. Was upgraded and had a nice large rooms with a view.
Room was well appointed, service was efficient and friendly, restaurant food was tasty, spa experience was good.
The hotel is located in the city centre, a fee minutes walk to the opera house. You risk your life crossing the streets though... A saigon experience but just follow a local and you will be fine

Stay here for over two weeks and had a horrible experience. For a four star hotel it didn't live up to its name. A two star hotel in the States did a better job at cleaning than this hotel. Stay once and never again. Nothing else to say about this place but STAY AWAY FROM IT!

We stayed in a room in the new wing for three nights and found it to be very clean, modern and relatively spacious. The view was of the building next door so not exactly great but what this did mean is that it was very quiet and we enjoyed excellent nights sleep. The beds are firm but very comfortable.

The hotel is in a perfect location for walking around the central places of the city and although it is not going to win beauty points for it's external surroundings, internally the hotel is tastefully decorated. It is literally 5 minutes walk from the Opera House and not much further to Notre Dame, the Post Office and the markets and shops. It has free wifi throughout - even in the bedrooms. I also loved the outside bar terrace where you could sit with a delicious iced Vietnamese coffee and watch the world go by. We found the breakfast to have a good range of choices which changed daily - do try the Vietnamese pancake if it is available - and the staff and chefs very accommodating.

The spa is truly lovely and I can highly recommend the one hour foot reflexology treatment to relax after a hard day of sight-seeing!

The staff are this hotels greatest asset - they are polite, friendly and always willing to help. Special mention to Andrey, the barman who was a star and appreciative thanks must be given to the reception and housekeeping staff for arranging for us to check in very early after arriving early morning from a long flight from the UK.

In the center of the city, yet off on a quiet side street away from the traffic noise. A very good 4 star with excellent breakfast, good size rooms and very comfortable. The service is excellent and attentive.

Thank you so much to the Royal Lotus staff who made our time in Saigon enjoyable. We were booked in at another hotel without a window and could nearly touch the opposite walls before changing to the Royal Lotus; upon telling the check-in lady of our horrible experience she upgraded us to a Suite. We were in the new wing on the top floor and could not have asked for better.

All staff were fantastic; from Sunny in the bar 'you make a mean White Lady' to Henry the manager who could not do enough for us these are the people that made our holiday special. Thank you so much.

The Royal Lotus is well situated in the Old Quarter but I am sure better accommodation in the same area could be found. While the facade & reception area give one the impression of 4 star quality, the rooms & service are definitely not. We were booked into the old wing & was it old! The furnishings remind one of the 60's. The room is a nice size - we had 2 double rooms but the bathrooms are atrocious! The plug in the basin did not seal, the hairdryer did not work & the shower with nondescript markings are bad. After a complaint to the travel company our guide spoke to them, I phoned twice & only after the 3rd call were we moved to another room where at least the basin sealed. The breakfast & service in the dining room were good.

As previous, very nice facade, reception area and staff, all good, but at closer inspection this is 3 star, not 4. On the plus side has to be the location, ideal and most of the regular sites are within walking distance the the average person, waterfront, Binh Thanh market, Unification Palce etc. However, the south wing has been refurbished, the north not, and there is a difference as we found out from others in our party (of 21). Breakfast was not the best we have seen, some items always running out and the coffee -for a country which grows a lot of it's own - was very bad. If you want location and not too worried about little things, after all it is only a base, then location could be the decider.
