A well priced and well located local hotel. Not for those looking for 5 star luxury but friendly helpful staff and nice clean rooms are what thiis place is all about. At $51 per night you can't go wrong.

This hotel was located in District 1 in the central area of the city in a good location just down the street from a large market. We paid $51 for a double, including taxes and breakfast and stayed here for ten days including TET. There were 3 computers for the guests to use. Overall, it wasn't bad but for a few things. We had to request more soap and shampoo on the first day but the maids starting giving us enough after that. When they brought our laundry back, some items were missing and we had to remind them of it, however they soon found them. Some of the guests used the computers as a baby sitting tool and these kids camped on the computers. The staff should have done something about it but didn't or they should have a minimum age for the computers. When I got on, I deleted all of the games and sound so that the little brats couldn't access them and didn't have sense enough to reinstall them. Except for this, the staff was pretty good, wrote out directions to different places, and booked a tour for us.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for about 1 week and it was our first hotel we've ever stayed at in vietnam. Coming straight from the airport, we asked if they had any vacancies until about 8 or 9 days later and they assured us that they did.
Doormen and hotel staff were very very friendly and the front desk was friendly at first.
However, 4 days after (and 1 days before christmas) we all just showered and was getting ready to head out when we receieved a call up to our room telling us to get ready to check out of our room. Very confused and annoyed we said that we have about 4 more days left in which the front desk said that they didn't book us into the room for 8 days. Instead, they thought we wanted to stay at the hotel in an "open" agreement i.e. we'll stay as long as they'll have the room free. And since its a day before christmas, they won;t have the room free as they have book in another guest.
To think that we quickly packed up and found another hotel online and left the hotel within half an hour still amazes me, and the fact that we left the hotel in a civil manner.
Afterwards i found out from locals that hotels in vn usually do that - they will book you in to fill up the gaps until their reserved guests arrives, all the while assuring you that they have vacancies.
As a result, i very much disliked the front desk's service and think they should get their act together and be more organised.

Also, its bad enough that their breakfast menu was limited in choices but even some of the things i requested on the menu I receieved a response of "sorry we don't have that anymore". For 4 days it was omlette and bread ...

I stayed at Thien Xuan Hotel, le thanh ton street, dist 1 HCMC, last Feb 08. About 9 days.

As long as you don't expect 4-5 stars services, this hotel is wonderful.

Small, but clean and properly managed.

Small dining room, mixed with 5 computers connected with internet at the corner, with one dish you can choose, no buffet.

Very friendly staffs, with eagerness to help you.

Well done for cleaning ladies at cleaning service, always clean up my mess every morning.

One elevator only, you must willing to share with their push cart sometimes.

Ben Thanh market just 100 steps accross the street, pick anything you want from foods and souvenirs.
Pho 24 just a few steps, and Blue cafe at the corner of the streets where you can meet your guests if you have any.

300m away there is a good restaurant with english speaking servants called High Land cafe,.with nice western cuisines.

Overall, i think, this hotel is a good value for your money.

Next Oct 08 I'm comming there again, and I don't bother to look for another hotel.

  • Liked — near to Ben Thanh market, easy taxi, friendly helpful staffs
  • Disliked — noise from the streets (i think it's a common problem for these kinds of hotels in Saigon)

We were referred this hotel by a cousin from Suisse who used to stay there every year for at least the last 5 years. The location is great with all the conveniances closed by. The Ben Thanh Market, some excellent restaurants, cafes...The services were great; all personnels were trying their best to please us. the 'continental' breakfast can be improved! We surely will stay here again next year.

I was very disappointed with the way the reception staff handled themselves. The sheets and blankets were dirty. The reception staff was impolite.

We stayed here for a week during late March 2008. I actually stayed here overnight a week prior to my week long stay before I flew to Hanoi and worked my way back to Saigon. At first I was hesistant, because I didn't know what to expect. I don't speak Vietnamese, and was by myself the first time around. Needless to say, check-in was smooth and everything was great my first night. I dropped off a suitcase so I could travel light throughout the country.

I came back for my weeklong stay, and they send my suitcase to my room. The hotel is in an excellent location, 1 block from the Ben Thanh market. Pho 24 is right next door. The shopping/clubs are all within walking distance. We hit up 'Wave' a few times because it was only a block away. There is also an excellent Chinese dim sum restaurant that is open late on the main road not far from the hotel. The room was standard, nothing special. The breakfast was good - we usually ordered pho or the steak. The computer workstations were a tad slow sometimes, but they did it's job. One reason why I docked it one star, is because the AC would turn off from time to time. You could also hear noises throughout the hallways. The maid's were very friendly and did an excellent job picking up after us. The hotel staff was very friendly, and we chatted with the workers during the evenings. Would I stay here again, absolutely! And this is coming from a Hilton Diamond, former platinum Marriott member!
