“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2009

This is an excellent hotel, in the center of town (District 1). The service is very pleasant and efficient. The hotel doesn't have a "history" like the Rex, the Caravelle, or the Majestic do, but it more than makes up for it in terms of facilties. It is a bit expensive by local standards, but well worth it: you will appreciate this quiet and comfortable oasis even more after a hot and humid day spent touring the main sites in town (former Presidential palace, War Remnants Museum, Cho Ben Thanh, etc.)!

If you can afford to fork out (relative to other Viet hotels) then of course you should stay here. Room is beautiful, we had our own butler. the breakfast is too good to be true. Just a professional yet wrm 5* operation. cannot recommend it enough. The spa is world class too. Location is also perfect.

I have stayed at many very nice hotels throughout the world and think this is my favorite. The entire place oozes with class...catch phrases like "old-world charm" and "understated elegance" come to mind. My room was not huge but was very comfortable, with excellent amenities. The location is very convenient to Saigon sight-seeing.

Location: busy area

Room: nice and comfortable, well cleaned, nice and relaxing classic decor,

Bed: comfortable, position is too high like a dinning table.
(maybe not good for children, old people, disable people)

Bath room: clean and nice, has a wet room as well that's functional.

Reception: very nice,

Staffs: very nice, but sometimes they have difficulty in speaking English like us.
If they don't understand, they often just pretend they understood, so if you
want to make sure something you should do double check.

Concierge desk: Polite and helpful

Door man: not cheerful but very helpful.

Chauffeur: very polite and cheerful and friendly

We didn't want to go out, because the hotel is so comfortable.

We spent two weeks in Vietnam in August with our three daughters ages 14, 12 and 12. We stayed at the Park Hyatt for 3 nights while we were in Ho Chi Minh. What a beautiful hotel. They whisked us up to our rooms for check in. We had requested connecting rooms and we got them. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very well appointed. The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. We also spent a couple of hours at the pool at the end of each day and it was the perfect tranquil spot to end our hectic days.

There is one story that I feel compelled to share because the concierge really went above and beyond. We wandered down at 7pm one night with all the girls in dresses ready for a nice dinner out.. We asked the concierge for directions to a restaurant that was very close to the hotel. All of us probably seeming a bit shell shocked by the millions of motorbikes and the crazy traffic and the lack of stop signs, lights or crosswalks but we didn't say anything. He suddenly said "follow me" and he proceeded to walk us to the restuarant - including guiding the girls across the street of motorbikes whizzing by in every direction. How nice is that!

The Park Hyatt was the best place to stay in Saigon. The Hyatt is well known there and the staff was great. It is central to alot of the places that a tourist is going and it eliminates the need for a rental - which you should avoid on your first or 2nd trip there. English is not widespread, so its nice to go back to your hotel at the end of the day and have someone understand you. I highly recommend it for your trip to Ho Chi Minh City.

Just stayed 6 nights at Park Hyatt Saigon, everything from the hotel location to the friendly staff was perfect. Our room was nice and quiiet overlooking the pool, and had all the amenities you would expect in a 5 star hotel. We ate at the "Opera" and "Square One" restaurants and had great service and food in both. Booked our trips with the friendly concierge who were very helpful. As mentioned in previous reviews the complimentary iced tea and fruit scewers offered by the attentive pool staff were much appreciated. Well done Park Hyatt Saigon !
