“Saigon Hotpot tour of Ho Chi Minh City”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

Our group of six Aussie women took a Saigon Hotpot walking tour with two university students who were very enthusiastic , easy to talk to and willing to give their time to tell us about their city. They were very caring and concerned for our safety and ensuring we got what we wanted from the tour. Their english was good and they willingly told us about their life in Vietnam. They took us to a great restaurant which we later went back to. They also fed off our enthusiasm and willingness to engage in conversation and I think they really enjoyed our company too. It is a free tour but you are asked if you would like to make a donation to the organisation which supports students and of course you do.

“Great service to travellers”
Reviewed February 13, 2014 via mobile

We had a terrific day with Linh from Saigon Hotpot. She was fairly new in the group and was(I think) in her first year at Uni. She was friendly, informative and enthusiastic with a pretty good grasp of English so she was certainly able to convey to us what needed to be explained. We went to several sites around town in the morning then had lunch at which I had her order the meals - all delicious. Went to a few more places after lunch and she would have been happy to continue but by about 3.30 we were starting to wear out from the walking. She insisted on escorting us back to the hotel to see we got home safely. Well worthwhile

“local flavor”
Reviewed February 10, 2014

Despite the difficulty in contacting HotPot, and the last minute decision and short amount of time with a guide...I really treasured the 2-3 hours that I spent with my guide. She quickly adapted to hearing about what I had already done, and took me to the back streets of her home town for yet a different view of Vietnam- and after spending 2-3 weeks in Vietnam, I thought I had seen it all. I loved that my guide made sure I was fine getting on the bus, navigating the streets- acknowledging my abilities and pace

“Highlights with Mr. Hai ”
Reviewed February 10, 2014 via mobile

We had an amazing day with the very friendly and knowledgable Mr. Hai. He showed us all the highlights of HCMC, taught us how to build the perfect spring roll and went above and beyond his tour guide duties to help us try to organize a money transfer. A special moment was when Hai introduced us to Mr. Duong Van Ngo at the Post Office- a trilingual octogenarian who has been helping translate letters and addresses there since he was a teenager.
We were so impressed with Hai's maturity, professionalism and familiarity with all the sites- his tour encompassed everything from political history to architecture to religion to social commentary to culinary techniques. Highly recommend this amazing FREE tour to anyone. We booked in advance had no problems whatsoever with the email correspondence or confirmation as some other reviewers had mentioned. Thanks Saigon Hotpot!

“For a local feel - try Saigon Hotpot tours”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

We were recommended by friends who had already toured around Vietnam, to approach Saigon Hotpot to give us a first hand and local tour around Saigon (HCMC) for our first day. They are young Uni students who want to improve their English - and interact first hand with visitors to their country - great idea! In return, you pay for transport - when needed, and lunch. Would highly recommend this local tour of Saigon to anyone, as it gave us a great basis to further enjoy our 4 days in this wonderful city!
