Our tour guide Ahn was excellent. She is a full time university student in Saigon studying finance and took time away from her studies to show us the war remnants museum, the reunification palace, and other various sights in the city. Ahn's English was excellent, and the tour was a pleasure.

We contacted Saigon Hotpot after looking at Tripadvisor and their website, e-mail communication and confirmation was great. We met Kim (our guide who is studiying English at University) at our hotel and had a wonderful day looking around the city, incuding the main highlights but also the Jade Emperor Pagoda. We visited China Town and had a nice lunch in resteaurant we would not have found ourselves. The best part was that Kim gave us general advice on the way of life in Vietnam (especially how to cross the road!) and this really helped make our holiday (Ho Chi Minh, Nha Trang & Hanoi) to Vitenam a great experience.

Kim spoke excellent english and was a great source of information. Saigon Hotpot guides are a great way for an introduction and would also be suitable for a return visit.

I found out about this organization last year, almost the same with Hanoi Kids Club in Hanoi. Saigon Hotpot, a group of university students come from different universities in HCMC that offer us a free city tour around Ho Chi Minh city. Yes, its free, we just need to pay their ticket to enter the tourism site and take them to lunch together with us. I like them because not just they have a great knowledge about their city history, but i love their passion to show us the tourist, how much they, the youth people, love their city. Their English was excellent, so kindly heart, warm and nice young students. I come back again this march to HCMC and called them again to guided my friends who first time come to HCMC. More easy contact them now since they have an facebook account and a website http://www.saigonhotpot.com/. They send us our last year guide, Bee, and their tour guide of the month, Phoung/Ken and a newbi Minh An. There's one guide i love too, Nam, but too bad he has a class. And we have a great time together walking around HCMC, they take good care of us and give us some tips, warning about things should or should not do. Their not tied with any schedule at all, so the journey was so fun. We can just stop and take a fresh drink, chit chat and then continuing our walking. From stranger, we are now friends to each other, and still keep in touch until now. Keep up the good work guys...such a bright young students...

Our guide Bich was fantastic, she met us promptly at the agreed time and went out of her way to make sure we saw everything! We did the war remnants museum, reunification palace, post office, cathedral, water puppets and lunch. Bich was very enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about Vietnamese history, her English was great and was very interested in how we live back in Australia. They don't allow tips but a small gift will be greatly treasured. I can't recommend this tour high enough.
