We stayed in Saigon River Boutique hotel for 3 nights and were very satisfied. Although the room was small it was very clean and nicely decorated, lovely shower room although the shower head had to be hand held. Breakfast was adequate in a lovely roof top setting with pleasant staff. The location was good within walking distance to most sights but quiet on a night. The outstanding feature for us was Daniel the receptionist who went the extra mile to be helpful and friendly. We would recommend this hotel without reservation.

Room Tip: A room with a window maybe a better choice

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your response on Trip Advisor. I think that we are extremely fortunate to have so many really lovely guests, as it makes our hotel the way we want it to be, friendly, caring/sharing and creative.
The Hotel is newly renovated and in fact not formally opened yet. Amidst clouds of offering smoke we had our Buddhist Opening and so now we are focusing on the fine tuning of our small hotel. Simply the problem of the hand held shower hose will be addressed and we appreciate that you brought this to our attention.
Our breakfasts have always been good quality, well cooked and often made from ingredients grown on one of the hotel terraces, as we aim to be as Eco friendly as possible and we are about to launch our much more extensive menu, offering a great selection of fresh, home cooked Italian and SE Asian dishes.
I do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back in the not too distant future.

I was introduced to this small boutique hotel by a friend in Bangkok , so I went to stay there for a week at the beginning of February 2013 Very beautifully placed in a most attractive and well located area of Saigon , it is not far from the lovely Opera House and the nearby wide, tree-lined French boulevards .
The staff are very friendly welcoming and happy to help ( in fact one the of the reception staff took me to a shop to get something quickly around the corner , Rather than explain it ! Not a regualr occurrence I would say ! )
The breakfast is on the roof top floor , covered by a canopy which protects from the sun in the mornings .I had an good choice of breakfast offered to me , whilst sitting overlooking the river life , one could catch a glimpse of the river , between two buildings , as the hotel is a street away from the river Friendliness ,helpfulness ,cleanliness and good value are what I look for in a place to stay when away from home This is what the hotel offers , I am planning my next visit next year when I go back to Asia
The owners work hard to ensure their newly renovated hotel is working well for their guests and I feel they will succeed in making anyones stay thoroughly enjoyable It was certainly for ME !
Don't expect too much and you will get more !

Room Tip: If you like hustle and bustle in the morning you can enjoy a front room Street life is good there...

To be frank the redevelopment of our hotel was close to a nightmare, as we battled with third world building standards and tried to hang onto our dream.
The ultimate reward is when you have truly delightful, well travelled and joyous guests come to stay. They arrive as guests and quickly become friends, as they embrace all we have to offer, along with celebrating the new culture they have come to experience.
How could I resist taking off my hotel owner's hat, to become tour guide for a day or two, in your company?
Sai Gon is indeed a seductive city, especially dressed to kill in all it's Tet, decorative finery. Thank you for coming to stay, looking forward to welcoming you back and happy that you love Vietnam.

We stayed in Saigon River Boutique hotel three nights and were perfectly satisfied. The room was clean and big, but was only partly renewd. So you had the beautiful wallpaper but very old closets. You had new tiling in the shower, but the rest of the bathroom was still waiting for its beauty treatment. So it would be more honest to call it Saigon river one-day-I-will-be-a-boutique-hotel.
Nevertheless the place was clean and the bed very comfortable. Staff very friendly, helpfull and committed! Only the limited choice for breakfast is a true minus! Great location, too!

Always appreciate it when guests take time to express their view, as it often pin points flaws in the hotel's operation and offers the opportunity for improvement. It also helps define the direction you develop your hotel, as it raises questions you have only indirectly addressed prior to the review.
As we redeveloped the hotel we have very consciously tried to do this with as much environmentally friendliness as possible. Simply we offer guests choices re how often their sheets and towels are laundered, we try to use low energy lighting etc and try to grow organic greens for our kitchen on site. We could have pulled all our old closets out, but they all still functioned well, so chose to simply recall paper both the interior and exterior surfaces, to ensure that they were fresh and clean. The same applies with the bathrooms, where we have left some of the old tiles. It is definitely my own design quirkiness surfacing here, as I did not want an over designed hotel either, where all the interiors were 'of the moment' and would need renewing in another five years, so they could be ' of the moment' again.
In regards to whether the hotel is boutique or not, one could debate at length, which would be fun perhaps, but not appropriate on Trip Advisor. The dictionary indicates that the word boutique can many many things including, stylish, which I believe we are, unique, find another hotel as contemporary in style as ours in Vietnam, hip, trendy, happy to wear those hats, has personalized service , YES,, friendly, YES, design orientated, YES, intimate, inspiring, you decide AND quirky, YES, have decided that already.
Of course we gave considerable consideration to the renaming of the hotel and when you do re name, have the signage done, printing done, it all has to relate to how you see the hotel in a more final state. You cannot name it One day Boutique Hotel, so to ensure guests leave satisfied our rates are currently set at One Day Boutique Hotel prices.
Key to us is excellent customer service and other reviews command so generously, particularly in regards to our Senior Receptionist and living gem Daniel.
Breakfast have been simple, but included in our discounted room rates, but we do now have a wonderful new menu, which is proving popular with our guests and can be also be ordered through room service.
Our hotel is evolving, large mirrors have just been installed in the smaller rooms, to provide a feeling of spaciousness and sparkle, window boxes filled with flowers installed on all the rear balconies, furniture reupholstered and soon a funky new area at reception to enjoy high quality teas and coffees.
Welcome to Saigon River Boutique Hotel.
