Serves a very tasty breakfast and the front has a nice balcony onto the main drag so it is a good spot to watch the world go by

“A far cry from what have been promised!!!”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

If you are a fan of meat/churrasco or enjoy dining at a churrascaria, this is definitely NOT the place.

As far as I know, in a churrascaria, waiters/waitresses are supposed to go around with skewers, cutting slices of meat for diners and come back if they ask for more. However, in this restaurant, we had to wait for quite a looooong time before we could be served with the first slice of meat, and the waiting time for the waiters to come back for the second serving was about 15mins! After cutting one slice of a type of meat, the waiter(who was carrying the skewers around, not others who served drinks) was either nowhere to be seen or tried to go past us (lest diners ask for more, I guess :D ). However, we were lucky once when served by the owner of the restaurant (if I'm not wrong, he's a Singaporean man with a different uniform ) and he did try to bring out some more picanha on our demand. To tell the truth, the meat here is not well marinated as the one in Au Lac Do Brazil, another churrascaria in HCMC. It's somehow bland (i had to add salt most of the time) and the beef is a bit chewy, not as tender.

Leaving aside the minus points, let's look at its pluses:
+ The decoration is magnificent (I love its red napkin folded in a fancy way and the brick wall in some part of the restaurant). It's suitable for a romantic dinner of 2 people who are willing to splurge a bit for the romance :P
+ The salad bar does offer us a chance to make our own salad. This is a good point of this restaurant as compared to Au Lac Do Brazil which has only two types of salad (Caesar and Russian).
+ The Vietnamese co-owner (wife of the Singaporean man) is very welcoming and attentive. She did greet and say thanks to almost all customers to the restaurant. Upon finishing our dinner, we were given a small dessert (passion fruit mousse) and a souvenir keychain with JJ logo.
+ The location is good as it's almost at the center of HCMC and within walking distance from the backpackers' area, which is also the reason why it's a bit more expensive (VND385,000/person, at a discount already) than it's supposed to be.

“Terrible service food even worse.”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

We made a reservation but once we arrived there was a large group that dominated the main dining room so we were hastily rushed to some really tall tables pushed together and seated on barstools. The first dissapointment was the salad bar. There are supposed to be 24 choices, what I saw was potato salad, some lettuce canned sweet corn and canned beans.

On meat skewer was brought to out table with a really fatty cut of meat. The rest of the stuff was brought out on plates. Like another reviewer said, chicken wings and sausages. We also had a large group 10 people. It isn't a place I would go back to.

“All you can eat is a rip off $25USD for chicken wings and second cut meats.”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

We dined at JJs with the promise of all you can eat meat and salad. Like all cons thats where the promises ended.

Once seated the nice and friendly waitress explained the process of the dinner, gives you a disk green side up for more meat please and red side up for no more thank you.

The chef then comes around with skewers of meat which is then sliced at your table, the only issue is the chef has counted how many people in the restaurant and cooked that exact number of portions, so you are given only 1 serve eg 1 chicken wing, 1 sausage, 1 cube of steak.

When new guests arrive in the restaurant the chef avoids going past your table so you do not get a chance to get any more.

After 1 hour all we had was 1 chicken wing, 1small pork sausage, 1 cuble of beef, 1 serve of stewed beef, and 1 serve of pork and if all this weighed more than 150grams I would be surprised.

For a company promising so much you deliver very little.

The meat is also marinated in asian spices (honey and soy) so its hardly a Brazillian BBQ.

Save your money and go elsewhere.

Total cost 2 buffets and 4 drinks $55USD

“A change from local food - great option for meat lovers”
Reviewed October 1, 2012 via mobile

Same as other Brazilian BBQs, you choose your sides from an all-you-can-eat buffet. Then, meat from the grill arrives to your table freshly cut until you say so.

Both the grilled meat and buffet were of very good quality. We were greeted by the owner of this newly opened placed and then served attentively by the waiters on the upper floor.

For this more exclusive choice of food, be prepared to strech your budget - the all you can eat meat plus buffet option comes at 25 USD per person without drinks.
