It's historical importance is without question but it feels, like walking throughout the set of a B movie. Still you have to go.

Good part of Vietnam history as this palace was active for a short period whilst South Vietnam was officially separated. Going with the city tour gives a good tour of the facility.

“A Piece of History”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

This place is the former residence of the Presidents of South Vietnam, renamed after the Communist take over in the mid 1970's. The grounds are well manicured and pristine, all the beauty and grandeur has been well maintained and preserved by the government. Once inside the residence you can view the opulence once enjoyed by the former leaders of South Vietnam as well as the military situation rooms located in the basement of the residence, even the last official car owned by the last President is preserved and is on display in the basement. The top floor has an open air dance floor and stage for bands and also contains a heli-pad which still has damage preserved from the April 1975 take over and fall of Saigon. Very Interesting site with a lot of history to be taken in, well worth the time to visit.

Great tour for history buffs - make sure you visit the 'bunker' in the basement as this is where all the interesting things happened during the Vietnam war.

“Subtle elegance”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

The architecture of the building gives a hint of what lies inside. Beautiful vast green gardens around the structure gives it a serene look. The main foyer is big with rooms both sides. The meeting room on the right and the banquet hall on the left. There is a big conference room which is available for rent for Seminars and conferences. Upstairs are more meeting rooms, according to the importance of the guests. Second floor is private use with movie theater, relaxing room with bar, billiards, piano etc.
