“Good snacks & Good Pho”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

Many people eat up on the roof but the humidity was too much for me. I did have several snacks which were very good but ou get get them much cheaper elsewhere

“Poor quality in a miserable atmosphere”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

We went there late afternoon to book a table as there was going to be some fireworks later. When we went back at the indicated time, our table was taken. The manager said he had no reservation from us. The staff who had taken our reservation came, and said she was sorry but she forgot.
She works for the Rex, 5 stars, she's in charge of taking reservations, and she is sorry but she forgot.
The staff managed to move the people from our table to another. These customers were really nice people.
The food was of poor quality. My girlfriend had a salmon which was eatable. My roast duck was horrible, it was cooked a long time before and then warmed up. Useless to say that the waiter did not ask me how I wanted it cooked, since it was already well done hours if not days before I even thoughtof eating there.
In general the menu has no authenticity, it's the pale international "anything you want" which you would find in an airport.
Cigarette smell in the reception. Old decoration that needs refreshing, especially the band's stage.
Sorry I cannot finish this review on a positive note.

“A coffee on the rooftop during Tet”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

We just went to grab a coffee/ tea there on the rooftop. Good service although you have to expect a high price - history makes it happen. Nevertheless nice spot for looking down on the city to look on the busy sidewalks. Great place to watch the numerous motorbikes and cars rush by.
We have been there during Tet at around lunch time. It was quite on the rooftop but it was great to see the people walking by at the sidewalks because the flower street was starting across the Rex. Great view!!!!

“Grand Place to have Dinner and Drinks”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

For 80 years the Rex Hotel has been a big part of the history of Saigon and now it is a five star hotel with a beautiful roof garden restaurant. The food and the drinks and wines are excellent but there are many great restaurants in Saigon - but this is the one with the best view, location and history. Six of us spent a very long evening enjoying the food, lots of drinks, music and view and reminisce our many memories of our Mekong Cruise as we parted for distant places. It was the perfect place and will be added to my special times list.

“Good for a drink”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

We just went to grab a drink on the rooftop before dinner. Good service, cold beer, although over priced, and free peanuts. Nice spot to have a drink overlooking the city away from the hustle and bustle of the busy sidewalks. Great place to watch the numerous motorbikes rush by.
