“great modern hotel”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

This is a modern hotel with all facilities. The rooms are large and have good bath/shower ensuites. The breackfast has a wide selection of different foods available as well as cook to order. Its situated within walking distance of the river area and is surrounded with bars and eating places. The hotel foods are varied with particular mention the lemon grass, great food with excellent service.

This hotel is right in the middle of everything. The staff is extremely helpful going out of their way to help you navegate a city where language can be a serious barrier. The breakfast was great. It was more than we expected.

Stayed here in May 2012. The location is excellent with many sights, bars and restaurants close at hand.

Compared to other places in Vietnam you (naturally for the big city) get less for your Dong, but The Palace had everything I needed as a solo traveller looking for something between budget and luxury. The rooms were small, but well equipped and clean and the bed was very comfortable. At first I did notice the unusual smell some Tripadvisor reviews have mentioned, but it wasn't overpowering and the airconditioning seemed to sort it out somehow. Breakfast was good, with plenty of variety, and the staff were very friendly. On my last day I left one of my chargers behind and the front desk people picked up my oversight when doing a phone check with their cleaning staff.

I would stay there again and hopefully make more use of the rooftop bar and pool they have, which we discovered far too late!

Room Tip: My room didn't have a view but was whisper quiet.

If you want to stay right in the Center of Saigon and not to overpay - Palace Hotel is the right choice. Located on the Nguyen Hue Blvd it has a rooftop swimming pool, and fantastic panorama of the City from Saigon river to the City Hall. I stayed there before Tet holidays and had all parades, flower decorations and feasts symbols right in front of the Hotel. I took a Signature Suite - large and comfortable. Food is o.k. and 4 lifts can get you up or down immediately. For a newcomer it is a super place to see the City - just walking around is a great experience.

Room Tip: Take a suite - more comfortable and not much more expensive.

This is our second stay at the Palace Hotel in Saigon and my forth visit to Vietnam. The best thing going for this hotel is the location, right in the middle of District 1 and close to just about everything. Shopping in Saigon is sensational and the Palace Hotel is within walking distance to all the best shopping. This hotel is not a 5 star hotel but is still very comfortable, clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is on the 5th floor and is good with plenty to choose from including an egg station where they will cook whatever you want. There is plenty of restaurants close to the hotel where you can get Vietnamese food and a variety of western food if that is what you want. Most attractions are within walking distance including the river which is about a 10 minute walk. The Lemongrass restaurant on the 14th floor is worth a visit and the prices for food is not expensive. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was very effective and welcome when you return to the room after being out in the heat. The room has a small fridge and tea making facilities. Most of the TV channels were in Vietnamese and not many in English. Our room had a spa bath and a separate shower.

Room Tip: The higher you get the better the view. Saigon is well lit up at night with coloured lights.

We stayed here for five nights late 2012. We were on the 11th floor in a deluxe room which had recently been refurbished.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, communication was a small issue occasionally but this was due to a rather complex request.

There is a rooftop pool which provides a nice oasis in the middle of the city. Breakfast was good with a range of western and Asian dishes available.

The hotel is within walking distance to nearby restaurants (I recommend Wrap & Roll across the intersection) and the Tax shopping centre which was a supermarket and department store style shops inside.

Would happily stay here again if I were to return to HCMC.

Tried this hotel based on a colleague's recommendation. Surely exceed my expectations from its room to location. Stayed here for a week.

Room: Clean and spacious. There's a balcony overlook the main street. Comfortable bed. Free wi-fi.Only downside is when there is a hotel event, it can be quite noisy especially if you stay on lower level.

Location: It is in District 1. So its nearby to all the attractions.Easy to get to Benh Thanh Market either by walking or take taxi.A taxi ride about Vnd 20,000~25,000 (~$1.50) to the market. Many shops/restaurants around the vincinity. Do try the vietnamese noodles at "Pho24" restaurant which just around the corner.

Service: Staffs are friendly and english spoken. If you stayed at end of the month, you will have to settle the room charges for that month.(Reason given: Close accounts).

Breakfast: Ordinary (Vietnamese/Continental/Japanese).

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Request for higher rooms facing the main street.
