“Brilliant Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2012

Stayed on the 10th floor which had very ggod views as there was a little balcony to stand out on although watch out for the heat being thrown from the air conditioning unit which sits on the floor of the balcony -- there is just about enough room for two to admire the views.

The room was clean and very comfortable. The bathroom had seen better days and be careful as to where the spay is set on the shower head as the water easily travel alondg the back edge and soaks the floor and anything you have on it!! this is just not a bit of watre -- several others that were on this singles trip also experienced the same.

Having said that, the breakfast was good and plenty of it with westren options available. Does tend to be a bit of a scramble but probably because the hotel is in such a central location that it is very popular

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the main street -- see photos as the viwes a...

the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. The restaurant is better described as a shopping mall 'food court', and the buffet breakfast is anything but pleasant. There were bugs flying around the pastries, the cheeses were old, dry and discoloured and there was a constant bad odour as you entered the restaurant. We had difficulty flushing the toilet in our room and the air conditioner pushed out a damp wet smell that filled the room. The location however, is great!

Very good location if you are planning to wander around a see the sights on foot. Staff quality was excellent by comparison to other higher rated hotels in Asia. The breakfast buffet is rather standard and I suggest that if you stay here, book without breakfast as there are plenty of places nearby to eat.

This is a brilliant hotel about 7km from Ho Chi Min Airport, very plush and very obliging staff. The restaurant is exceptionally good with excellent choice and a good breakfast. Rooms are huge and well equipped with a big bathroom, mine had bath and shower and everything you could want including a razor. The bar is expensive surprisingly, you'll get a bit of a shock when it runs into millions of Dong.

The room was pretty bad. The TV was not working and I had complained the first day, yet it was never repaired or replaced during my stay of three. The only time anyone smiled was when we were checking out, and the doorman had a huge toothy grin. Breakfast was nothing to write home about either. The location of the Hotel is the real saving grace, but as I noticed there are several in the same area. My room had no view whatsoever. It is also difficult to find a power point in the room where you can charge your phone or laptop.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the main road may be better. The ones at the back will have you facing brick wall...

We are so glad we picked this hotel in HCMC. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, nice clean and spacious rooms. Although the pool was on the small side, it was sufficient for us during our stay - every afternoon relaxing and playing in the pool. All the staff were very helpful and polite. The breakfast was great, couldn't fault it at all (except that we ate too much). Enjoyed our stay here.

Room Tip: we had a room on the road and I am a light sleeper, but my sleep wasn't interupted by traffic no...

The Palace Hotel is ideally situated in District 1, within easy reach of the majority of sights and markets. I would much prefer to stay in this central hotel than a 5* in an out of the way area. The rooms were more than adequate, clean and had all basic needs. Breakfast was in a large room with a view and was varied, so catered for all tastes. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only minor downside is the pool - it is on the roof, which is a bonus, but tiny, so not relaxing if more than a couple of people in it.

Room Tip: There are rooms without views or with restricted views, so check before booking if it is important t...
