The Duxton Hotel is a great hotel in a quite good location. The grand lobby and entryway make a fantastic first impression and the staff and rooms don't disappoint it. The room was airy with a great view, the staff were so helpful and would go out of their way to help you, the breakfast was fantastic (everything from Dumplings to doughnuts, and it's free!!!) and the location was within walking distance of everything we wanted to visit. The pool and gym arrangement was good, a taxi service is always out the front if you need it and the rooms were fantastically clean, just prepare to pay typical western prices for accommodation and food. Would definitely stay here again and recommend a stay here!

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon. We chose this hotel as a mid choice as we weren't so bothered about luxury more a central location for exploring - it didn't disappoint. Near the market and great for window shopping in the designer stores. Good breakfast and comfy rooms. Booked trip to koo chi tunnels from hotel which was well organised and reasonably priced.

On arrival we were impressed by the front of the hotel with its sweeping staircases and large foyer. Having told our tour company our room requirements (non-smoking, one double bed and a high floor) we did not check before we were allocated a room neither did the receptionist check with us. We were allocated a very smelly smoking room ( with a view of an unfinished building). When we pointed this out another room was hastily made up for us with twin beds pushed together. This would not have worked either, as it meant one part of the bed neither had a headboard or a bedside table or lamp. Eventually we were given a room that contained one bed and was non-smoking but why had it taken so long to meet our requiremens! And why are rooms not kept ready for guests? We did use the swimming pool one afternoon but it was quite cool and there were only a few beds for relaxing on. There is a night market a few minutes walk away which is worth a visit. After our initial problems the rest of our stay was quite satisfactory and we were allowed to keep our room till 1.30pm on the day of our departure because of a late flight.

Room Tip: If you book in advance check your requirements, especially if you are a nonsmoker.

The staff at the reception is incredibly friendly, very helpful, attentive and efficient. Room is reasonably sized, comfortable bed, very clean and had a fantastic view of the Saigon river. Breakfast is good. The best part of the hotel is its location. Situated close to the Saigon river, Ben Thanh market, casino and other restaurants nearby. When we arrived there was a Flower Festival going on with different kinds of flowers being displayed along the 1km road outside. Had a wonderful stay!

Comfortable beds in an average sized room, but lacking staorage space for clothes - hardly any drawers. Bathroom OK but drainage very slow. Shower curtain inadequate, even with care, and by the end of a shower I was standing in 15cm of scummy water because of the slow drainage.

Pleasant, helpful staff. Breakfast buffet not quite up to standard of other hotels we stayed in, and evening buffet slightly more expensive with not quite such a good selection of food.

Good location and not much traffic noise, but I suspect you can get better accommodation for your money.
