Arrived at the airport, from Bangkok we had booked transfers. Found the man with the board who said 'you not on list get taxi' but I booked transfers 'get taxi'
Arrived at hotel, hello we have a reservation. "No room' what do you mean? 'No room you go down road" WELCOME TO VIETNAM!!
Navigated our way down road to Liberty 3, we had been upgraded to a suite. What a joke!
No choice but to stay the night. No sleep room very hot. Anyone thinking of booking Liberty 3 think again.
Next morning went to Liberty 4. 'Can we have our room now" you not like other hotel? If I wanted to stay in Liberty 3 I would have booked it. called the Manager who showed us available room, what a difference so much better.
So off we went again to to collect our luggage and moved in.
So after a bad start things improved.
Very comfortable room on high floor with balcony overlooking park.
Good breakfast, but I have never seen so many staff in a restaurant doing nothing. Finishes at 9.30am on the dot. They then start moving furniture around you.
Location perfect
Staff very friendly and helpful in the end
Would I recommend this hotel? Yes I would

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room on a high floor. Great bakery just down the road. They have now opene...

Yet another Asian hotel that thinks it is ok to start renovation noise at 8am in the morning. Not a bad hotel if you do not want peace and quiet. Hammering started at 8am and I rang reception twice and THEY DENIED that there was any noise. At about 9am jackhammering/impact drilling started. I walked up a couple of flights of stairs and found dust & noise billowing out of a room that was above my room a couple of floors up. After another complaint they killed the jack -hammering/impact drilling, too late for my sleep-in, but other hammering continued anyway. These hotels should tell you in advance so that you can cancel and make other arrangements, but they want the money so much, that they do not care about your comfort. Very Unscrupulous. I recommend against staying with them.

it's a decent hotel, you would find any problem but would not say it's awesome.
Only thing, receptionist will keep the passport with them from the time you checkout.
Breakfast was ok, choices were many (but for a vegetarian like me, little less).
I heard, it's in market and bit noisy but nothing like that might be our room was on 6/7th floor thats why.
It was our wedding anniversary when we reached, they arranged a cake, thats very nice of them.

The Liberty 4 Hotel is located in the city on a side street to the main road facing a park, the traffic is still heavy on the road and caution should be used when crossing the street, but that's pretty much the same with any busy street in Vietnam. The Hotel lobby is spacious and clean with a seating area, which does get quite full with guess arriving and departing. The internet access is also located in the lobby next to the main Hotel counter, so there isn't much privacy. The Hotel does have a bar which is a night club after dark, the drink prices and table charge make this expensive and not a venue that I would use, the music is loud and there are girls working the bar, the Hotels massage service is also located on the same floor and virtually next to the bar entrance.it does offer a 24 hour service that I found a little suspicious. One tiger beer cost almost $80,000 Dong at the bar compared to $15,000 Dong on the street ($1 AUS = $20,000 Dong) when leaving the Hotel at night there is a very high chance that you will be approached and asked if you are looking for a friend so be prepared and be polite. The rooms are spacious and well maintained, with room service daily. The bathroom has a shower and bath combined and not a walk in shower, the room we had was facing the park out the front of the Hotel and although it was noisy on the balcony the glass sliding door was thick enough to block traffic noise and so a good night sleep could be had. Breakfast at the Hotel was one of the best we encountered in Vietnam with a large selection and a great choice from Asian style to Western style food, and hot. The location of the Hotel is close to the market for shopping and restaurants. The Hotel lifts (2) are small and can only hold two people with luggage at a time so as a group it would take some time for everyone to reach their rooms. The Hotel lobby is flat so wheelchair access is good, the staff were found to be helpful and polite, as with most Hotels in Vietnam the room price can be haggled with depending if you want breakfast included or not. Taxi's are located everywhere and easy to obtain, I would encourage a cyclo tour which is cheap and offers a great experience of the city but a little nerving been at the front of a cycle with on coming traffic, it provides a great opportunity for photo's or video memories. As with most Asian Hotels the beds are firm but comfortable wall thickness must be good as we did not hear any other guest in the hotel once in our room, security at the Hotel was fine and a safe in each room for personal items such as passport is available and easy to use. If I was visiting Ho Chi Ming again I would have no hesitation in using this Hotel again, right place with the right price.

Room Tip: well worth a look, close to everything and not over priced. I would recommend this Hotel to fellow t...

Stayed one night in a twin room on the 7th floor (non-smoking floor). Room was very clean, and overlooking a back alley, so it was quiet at night. The room was spacious as was the bathroom, which was very clean and modern and had all the usual soap, shampoo, toothbrush etc. provided.
The room had a safe, good sized wardrobe, flat screen tv, minibar and two single beds.
The breakfast is on the rooftop 9th floor, with a choice of either inside with air con, or outside on the balcony, overlooking the city with great views in 3 directions. The food was very good - with a good range of western and Asian dishes and a fresh eggs / omelette cooking station.

The hotel is located in the heart of District 1, near the Ben Thanh market and other major attractions, bars, restaurants, cafes etc. & an indoor shopping centre with usual brands, etc. all within 3 - 10 minute walk.

Only minor gripe was a hard pillow - I was too lazy to enquire if they could change it - I'm absolutely sure they would have. It was light about 5:15am and curtains weren't "black-out" so bring an eye mask if you're light sensitive as I am (this applies to most hotels I've stayed at around the world!!)

Check-in / Check out was fast, efficient and courteous; the porter offered to carry my bag (though unnecessary).

I travel a lot and this wasn't very different from most 4 - 5 star hotels, especially in Ho Chi Minh City.
I paid about Singapore $53 in total (USD$41) so this was outstanding value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the main street to avoid noise

I stayed 4 nights and very satisfied with the service as well as the standard of the room. Breakfast was ok. Not fabulous, but it got us through the morning. Security is good and it's near major shopping area. The hotel staff was helpful when needed to get a taxi, they also helped us to cross the street when we were nervous on the first few days in HCM. I heartily recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to enjoy the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city.
