Stayed here last week of July 2013 in a suite. This hotel has a fantasic location, come out of the door turn left and your on one of the best streets in HCMC.

The room was large and clean although it did have a slight musty smell but all in all it was lovely. House keeping was very good. Bed very comfy, nice bathroom.

Nice little touches like a hand written welcome card.

The food and drinks are expensive by HCMC standards but it is a 5 star hotel so to be expected. In general service was good and attentive. We tried the casino one night and was good, we also ate in the casino but was not particulary impressed with the food.

The pool is small and does not get much sun shine but it's nice and clean.

There was some building work during our stay and we were woken by the niose very early every morning, however upon complaining to the Manager he addressed the complaint with complete satisfaction.

It's by a very busy road / junction and it does take some nerve to crosss the road but you do get used to it.

We tried several bars close to the hotel along Dong Khoi Street and by pure chance found a bar called Ice Blue on the opposite side of the road a 5 min walk away. A great friendly bar with darts good friendly staff and a mixture of nationalities as customers. Mr Acceptable (the owner) is so funny and friendly. From the outside its just a small door way but dont let that put you off and it does not open till 4pm every day but stays open till quire late.

In summary, yes the hotel is a little expensive but if you want good old fashioned colonial style luxury and a grand land mark in a ideal location this is the place!

From the moment we arrived at the hotel I was so impressed with the welcome, check in process and the incredibly beautiful surroundings. The room far exceeded our expectations, spacious, spotless and beautifully appointment. It was late at night and we were tired but hadn't eaten yet. We ordered room service and our meal was delicious. After a very comfortable sleep we enjoyed a lovely breakfast overlooking the river. So sorry we can only stay one night. We will be recommending this hotel to others and look forward to coming back for longer next time.

Room Tip: We had a rom on the 4th floor overlooking the pool. It was so quiet, we didn't hear traffic at a...

Location: About 30 minutes drive from the airport. Great location with many shops in the area. Nice view of the Saigon river.

Front office: Staff were friendly and ensure check-in was smooth. Was pleasantly surprised that they upgraded me to the Majestic Suite.

Room: The Majestic suite was huge. 3 distinctive areas for living room, bedroom and shower. Nice view of the Saigon river. Nice bed and pillows. It was most relaxing to be in the bathtub with Jacuzzi.

Breakfast: Selection of food was not bad.

Staff: Friendly

Overall: Nice experience to stay in the Majestic Suite.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here in 3 years, unfortunately this will be the last. Staff not very friendly, over priced food/ drink. The salon staff don't speak English and untrained- would not recommend.

Our room overlooked a terrible building, bed was comfy however pillows too large to be able to lye down.

Great location beside the Saigon River, old world charm, wonderful breakfast on the outdoor rooftop patio overlooking the river. Hotel is within walking distance of most sites and of great restaurants and bars.

Room Tip: Rooms are quite sound proofed so even a room over the river is quiet

French colonial style, location by river and within easy walking distance of the main central Saigon. Reception has the wow factor, crystal chandeliers stained glass art deco design you name it. The down side is that the rooms are not as "modern" but having said that they are clean and well maintained and the bathroom was well appointed apart from having a shower over the bath an no shower cubicle. The main restaurant was closed and apart from the main reception the other areas were very humid with little if any air conditioning.
The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
There are major renovations/newbuild taking place for a revamped hotel in 2015...so it will be the place to be when it opens

I stayed at the Majestic for two nights on a business trip and was reasonably satisfied with the experience. The old-time charm and splendor of the building combined with a great location by the Saigon river but still in the heart of the city creates a cozy atmosphere for both the business and leisure travelers alike. The size and quality of the room and the bed were fairly generous albeit with overall furnishing which looked a little 'tired' and aging. Also the rather poor renovation in certain areas gave the hotel a rather face. Maybe that was part of the intention to give an old and used feeling but for me it was a little too tired. Staff was rather friendly and accommodating but hotel services such as Restaurants, Bar and Spa were below par and somewhat out of touch with the culinary and entertainment revolution which CM has been going through over the last few years. As a result such hotel amenities were not used much by the guests which gave the place the feeling of an old people's home. Nevertheless, for the discerning and quiet type of traveler Majestic provides a decent place right in the middle of the city.

Room Tip: I stayed in a rather large Deluxe Room with a king size bed with the River view which overlooked one...
