This hotel is well located for easy access to the markets and rest of Ho Chi Minh. It is a four star hotel but could improve on its breakfast buffet both in variety and quality of food, and the pool area. Our room was comfortable but small as we needed an extra bed for our son.

Stayed at the Grand Jun 27- Jul 1. Great way to end the vacation of 3 weeks in Vietnam. We had 2 rooms with 2 twin beds on the 6th floor. The beds are very large for twins and really comfy. This hotel is in a great location. The front desk staff friendly and helpful. Check in was really simple. Booked same day online. Excellent price for two rooms. Very suprise how good the pricing was for this quality of a hotel in HCMC. It was their summer sale. Rooms are clean, up to date, great bathrooms, lots of ammenities. Buffet breakfast was good lots to choose from. The pool area is this little oasis in the middle of the hotel. Wish you could get better sun but also a nice break from the heat. Pool side food and drinks are great. Two for one drinks after 4pm. Roof top lounge was good. Also tried their BBQ night. A little too pricey for the amount of food i eat. Only complaint was the wedding on the 4th floor saturday night. The music was so loud and pounded out until the 12 am. But we were so tired it was easy to fall asleep. We stayed in the new Luxuary wing. Recommend! Very happy with our choice to stay here and would recommend to anyone. So hard to decided with mixed reviews.

Room Tip: The night club accross the street 2 Gold is very very loud and goes till 3am. Turn on your A/C and...

My partner says I was spoiled by other hotels we stayed at and that the service we received here was a "typical" hotel for that area. Check in was disorganised, leave your passport in a room that is locked, but that every other person in the hotel can get access to - I think not. Our room was clean and quite OK. I didn't like that there were two double beds in the room. One cake of soap, which was taken when they cleaned and not replaced. Tried to ring Housekeeping and our phone didn't work. At one stage 2 of the three elevators were out of order. One was out of order nearly the whole of our 2 nights. Breakfast was good and the service there quite good. We had a meal in the restaurant on the 20th floor which was our final meal and it was terrible, the cost was included in our stay otherwise I would have demanded a refund. Everything was cold. The service terrible. Pool side bar, service and drinks good, we also had a club sandwich for lunch and that was great. Overall I'd try and find somewhere else to stay next time as it just didn't cut it for me at all. We were on a package deal so I'm not sure how cost compares to other hotels.

Spent two nights at the Grand Hotel Ho Chi Minh City and have to give it a mixed review.

The Good ….
Location is good and you can walk to markets etc etc …
The room itself was clean and comfortable.. The rood was quiet even though it overlooked the street..
The pool was good and welcome after a hot day sightseeing, and drinks from the pool bar were good. Friendly staff and a good cocktail list ..

The Not so Good …
Check-in and Check-out were very disorganised..
Servicing of the room was not good with little things like soap used for one day taken away and no replacement left.
Breakfast was not all that good with choice limited and food always seemed cold.
We had a group diner in the 20th floor restaurant which was terrible and again service very disorganised… Drinks were very overpriced …

All in all not a bad hotel but I think with some research you could do better

Stayed here In a grand suite late June. As a family of five we loved the very large suite with two huge bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rooms looked over the street which was a little noisy but ok and also over the swimming pool area. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast quite good. The location was brilliant. Nothing negative to say except the coffees In the foyer were $6!

Due to the fact that we had a voucher for this hotel, our check in got off to a rough start. They wouldn't let us check in until we produced proper documentation and were very inflexible and unwilling to help. I had to drive 30 minutes to retrieve the document, and considered myself lucky because at least I had it in town.

Once the check in ordeal was over, we found or room (in the old wing) to be very pleasant and tasteful.

I checked out the pool later and found it to be small and very dirty for such a high class hotel.

Although our room was right above busy Dong Khoi Street, the room was well-insulated and we slept very peacefully.

Room Tip: Stay in the old wing. The new wing is a bit cheaper, but has none of the historical ambiance.
