Not very good location. The facility is a big building sorrounded by an ugly neighbourhood. Employees and waiters are friendly and professional. We arrived at 10 pm and had the chance to eat a nice bit in the bar, very nicely served. The pool is a nice spot and great to enjoy from 6 a.m.. Good value for your money if the location does not bother you.

We arrived at the Equatorial Hotel for a night to end our 9 day tour with #intrepidtravel - so we were a little be-draggled on arrival. Regardless of our appearance we we greeted with warmth and were delighted to find that our rooms were ready for us, even though we arrived early. The duty manager came over to explain he had been unable to give us adjoining rooms, however he had arranged two rooms opposite each other. These rooms were gorgeous, spacious, well appointed and with super-comfy beds! We had balconies that we could marvel at the traffic from too! The bathrooms were fine, but not spotless, not dreadful but not perfect- the towels were clean and the water lovely and hot. There was a full bath with shower over, a good sized basin and nice toiletries. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom too, and plenty of clean towels. The prices for food were steep compared to other hotels. I didn't pre-pay for breakfast, thinking it would be reasonabke - but 500,000VND each is far too much for the amount I eat, so we went out to the Circle K shop across the street and bought bread and fruit instead. The food at the pool bar was really lovely, a good choice on the menu, with prices in the 200,000 to 250,000 range for most things - burger, pizza, pasta, curry, sandwiches. It is 70,000 for a draught beer - so again significantly more than outside the hotel, but it suited us to sit by the pool.
The staff were all lovely, and o erall, we had the touch of luxury and relaxation that we wanted to end our trip. I would stay here again.

This was the original room given to us for four people (3 adults and one child aged 11). Can anyone see the extra sleeping space for the fourth person or did they want me to sleep in the bath?
Waited in Reception for over an hour whilst travel agent sorted the problem - manager not very hospitable - not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel who accepted the booking knowing that the child was 11 years old.
We are now in a suite with two extra beds - sorted by the travel agent; the manager didn’t really seem to care - just told us about terms and conditions.
Honestly you could not make this up - had a glass of wine in the hotel bar when a massive rat run across me! If I hadn’t been so startled I would have taken a picture. Assured by the manager that pest control have been called.
Have been travelling across Vietnam and Cambodia in 5 star hotels and never come across a hotel like this. Utterly disappointed. Am in room 1014 if the manager would like to respond, seeing as I have two nights left.

Not bang in the city centre but a 10-15 minute cab ride that costs about £3GBP. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Great pool and bar. Breakfast was bountiful with choices to suit all (pastries, cereal, noodles, rice, cold meats and cheese, breads etc).
Staff go above and beyond to help with anything you need. Gave us very good tips about how to avoid taxi scams (which, sadly are rife.
We had the Seafood Buffet dinner one night which was well worth it. Great selection of fresh fish and shellfish. Also non fishy options for those who prefer meat.
This is a great place to stay.

The hotel was unknown to me having been booked via my agents. My first stop was an early morning arrival, having flown from the UK overnight. The hotel staff were helpful and offered to provide luggage storage until check-in time. However, we were allowed to take our room early after making a payment ( which we could afford to do). Our room was a very good size and on a quite floor (there being some works carried out in the hotel), with the air conditioning making it very comfortable for us.
We ventured to breakfast which is buffet style mixture of European and Vietnamese. It was all very tasty and eggs were cooked to order .
Our enquiries at the concierge desk informed us of the available sites to visit and maps were provided to show where these were. The hotel operates a free bus service which does a circular route of the main central sites and you can drop off and later pick up a return to the hotel. A couple of places we wanted to go to required a taxi and the staff made sure the taxi driver knew exactly where we wanted to go to and to remain and bring us back to the hotel when we had finished, not because of any danger but because of our lack of language skills and the shortage of taxis in the area we wanted. Full marks for this.
We ate in the restaurant one evening and enjoyed a typical vietnamese 'Pho' dish very pleasantly served and tasty. The waitress advised us on our order as we would most certainly have over ordered on food size.
The bar on the ground floor is a little soulless but is comfortable enough.
We did not avail of the swimming pool and facilities, but they looked perfectly adequate.
All the staff were at all times ready with a smile and prepared to offer help if needed. We checked out late and were allowed to keep our room until it was airport time.
On our return 5 weeks later we were greeted like long lost friends and made to feel very welcome. Again our room was excellent and the service provided was second to none.
We only had 3 days this time, but wished it could have been longer.
I know that when we return to Ho Chi Minh city, this is the only hotel we will be looking to stay in. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
