The Movenpick is the height of Euro efficiency. The rooms were clean and spacious. The restaurant provided a lovely buffet breakfast as well as a comprehensive dinner menu. My only complaint is that is was far from City Center and with traffic in Ho Chi Minh City, it was crazy to try to get around in the neighborhood.

This is a really nice hotel. Rooms of high standard and very clean. The staff were great, always super helpful and in-depth knowledge of the city.

The location is a good distance from District 1. While it's not expensive, the time we wasted sitting in taxi's amongst the traffic was very frustrating. Would love to stay again, but to far away.

Also note to stay away from the Seafood buffet which was frequented by people who maintained poor hygiene and had little understanding of communal eating! It did however offer a very unique form of entertainment... ;-)

I have always had good luck with hotels in HCMC and this is the third hotel I've stayed in and my new home for future business travel to HCMC. It's not the most luxurious hotel but very functional, clean, and professional.

As most of my business in HCMC is conducted at the e.town office complex, which is not far away (the hotel has a shuttle service) or to production centers far from downtown, it is actually more convenient for me to stay here than in congested District 1.

The breakfast buffet is well-stocked with a variety of cuisines and there are a couple of different restaurants on-site for those who need that sort of thing. The pool is decent sized and supposedly there is a bar there as well that I did not see or use. They have a small but modern and well-equipped fitness room that I used a lot and, a first for me anywhere, an actual punching bag! I was very happy to get in some bag work while traveling (I bring my own gloves everywhere I travel, so can't speak to whether they have gloves for guest use or not).

The rooms are modern, clean, and functional with a hint of luxury. District 1 is easily accessed by hotel shuttle or a simple taxi ride. Non-rush hour it should only take you 10-15 minutes to get to District 1 and I think it cost me VND 100,000 or less, if you don't want to use the hotel shuttle. Rush hour can take 30 minutes or longer each way to and from District 1.

As for airport access, this hotel is super convenient. Only 10 minutes to and from the airport which made checking out and catching flights a breeze, I was able to sleep in longer and take my time getting to the airport whereas in District 1, depending on the traffic, you might have a significant hike.

Bottom line: Clean, modern, functional business hotel, also good for families.

Got a good deal online from Agoda.

The location is very close to airport and not wry far from City center.

Looked recently renovated an room's interior was really nice.

Buffet dinner was not as good as it was expected. Foods were cold and attendance of waitresses needed improvement.

Yes, it is out of town. But then again the taxi fare was approximately $5aud to get into main CBD so still completely manageable. The pool is okay, but lets face it, you really don't come to HCM to sit by the pool all day. Breakfast is undeniably one of the best buffet breakkys I have been too. Everything you can imagine is there! Think staying in the hotel just for the breakfast is enough! Rooms are very clean. We asked for a non-smoking room but it reeked of smoke and was unbearable at the start. The walls must be thin, as we could hear everything going on in the rooms surrounding us. But look, that really is nothing in the scheme of things. The hotel is close enough to the airport and CBD. Taxis are cheap, so I would gladly return to the Movenpick again as the small issues really are minor compared to the great service and breakky! Did I mention how good the buffet breakfast is? ;)

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Extensive breakfeast and diner with quality food, especially the fish buffet. Also great japanese and chinese restaurant available.
The rooms are large and comportable.
Furthermore a nice bar with live music during the weekends
This hotel is situated close to the river and inner city (it takes 10 to 15 min). There is a lot to do in Ho Chi Minh City. You can even rent a (motor) bike for a cheap prize and sometimes with a local driver.

I did enjoy my stay at the hotel. The rooms were nice and the breakfast was really great - lots of choices and great service. The issue is purely to do with the location, it is far away from the CBD and the proximity to restaurants and the like is an issue. I ate at the Japanese restaurant in the hotel, it was pretty good and reasonably priced for a hotel. The staff were great and pleasant and taxis were quite accessible, but if you are here for a short time it is better to stay more central so that you can really experience HCMC.
