“Good hotel in great hotel”
Reviewed February 2, 2013 via mobile

This is a modern high standard hotel with great service. Do make sure you get a room with a riverside view. It costs extra but is worth it. Food is good with a lovely breakfast buffet. Try the evening buffet for one night of your stay. Costs about £30 per head but a good selection with drink included. Facilities are ok with a good swimming pool on the roof which has fantastic views. There is also a well equipped gym on the same floor.

The location is excellent. You are in the centre of the city and the main attractions are very walkable. Plenty of good restaurants nearby.

All in all a very good hotel which we would be very happy to return to.

I stayed here 2 years ago and was not overly excited by my return. But it's really improved! We loved it.

We came here for 5 nights on our honeymoon. We booked a river view room but got the best river view room going on the corner overlooking the river and roundabout.

For a big hotel, service is quite good. The bag concierge remembered us (we left for Mekong for a night and returned). Service is nice and breakfast is good.

I would come again - great location, good staff, yummy breafast and great rooms!

We stayed here for our first and last 2 nights on a trip to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and would recommend. Very easy to walk to the main shopping street- in fact we walked everywhere: post office, cathedral, re-unification palace, market, Saigon Square shopping.... We had a room over-looking the river which was large and comfortable. Breakfast was good with great choice. For our last 2 nights I'd somehow booked a package which included a dim-sum lunch. We weren't sure we were going to have time for it but made time- and glad we did. Food just kept coming and coming and all delicious. We were leaving on a flight that night at 11pm and found it hard to find room for dinner that evening!!!
There's a great bar on the 5th floor which seems to be full of trendy looking star-types- interesting people watching venue while you sip your mojito!

All in all the hotel is fine. The price was a bit more than the rest of Asia- and we got upgraded, supposedly. We were on a high floor, facing the river. Furniture a bit tired but the beds were comfy. A bit of a walk to the vincom centre where a lot of the action is, but not too bad. No restaurants right close, so had buffet @ hotel first morning...25$ each?!? That's a LOT for Asia. It was good, but not that good!

I might try staying elsewhere with more value for money next time- but all in all it was good enough for us - we felt safe and secure on our first trip to Nam.

Stayed here for two weeks with all access to the club lounge.
The location of the hotel is very good you can walk safely and conveniently to all the
shopping cafe and restaurants. Rooms interiors was nothing great a bit dull but clean,
There were three apples given for free when I checked in till I checked out after two weeks,
it was still the same three apples a small fresh boom would have been a better alternative.
Bathroom shower was a bit of a disappointment the water pressure was so low and the
plug points were loose, couldn't connect the hairdryer and charger properly.
The staff at the lounge were friendly but can't be said for the same at the lobby.
Breakfast was really good with a lot of variety.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the river were better.

Staff are friendly and welcoming, and the hotel is in a great location. While my room felt a little dated it was clean, comfortable and of good size. My room was on the 8th floor facing the river. The view was nice and I didn't feel any noise issues with the traffic below.

The buffet dinner at Kabin is fantastic. There are many options to choose from, all prepared for you. Come hungry and expect to stay a while trying different things. My favorite dish was the black pepper fried soft-shell crab. Also the pool on the top floor offers a great view of the city.

I would however recommend avoid using Buffalo tours in the hotel. Their prices are very expensive ($120 for day long city tour) and my experience with the guide was that he wasn't too interested or knowledgeable. There are much cheaper options right around the corner for the hotel.

We had 13 people staying one night in Renaissance Saigon Riverside Hotel. We are four families and are friends.
The hotel front desk staff were very nice getting us checked in. I had a corner suite with river view which is nice and has much space.

The location of the hotel is pretty convenient to everywhere. We can go shopping, go to eat, and go across the street getting close to Saigon River Bank where there is a coffee place and a garden.

In the morning, we booked the shuttle service for one day sightseeing. But, the shuttle from the agency didn't show up. So the hotel arranged their own shuttle service which we paid for it. One of the staff followed us helping us with the whole trip of sightseeing. He was so patient and helpful.

The executive loung is nice and we had some food and sat there overlooking the evening view of Saigon river.
The high celling of the hotel building looks nice with lanterns hanging which forms a beautiful picture.
