“410,000 dong for 2 drinks”
Reviewed November 24, 2013 via mobile

This place is a scam, it's obvious the owner only cares about 2 things: himself and money. He came on stage and started playing and he just wouldn't stop. He was playing a well known song and kept dragging it out adding at least 2 minutes of solo play with piano accompaniment. Even the piano player stopped playing several times thinking the windbag was done but he just kept smashing out bad solos.

Save your money, this is one of the most outrageously priced places in Vietnam with not much value for your money.

I paid 100,000 dong for a green saigon, a 12,000 dong beer.

“A unique, intimate jazz experience”
Reviewed November 20, 2013 via mobile

Sax N Art Jazz Club offers a unique, intimate jazz experience at a very reasonable price. This place is popular and usually crowded, so get here early (around 9:00 p.m.) if you want a good view. Tran Manh Tuan is a brilliant tsaxophonist who also sings and plays numerous other instruments, including a variety of Vietnamese traditional wind instruments. The house band is superbly talented. The staff is gracious. Yes, you will be shown CD's that are available for sale, but there is no pressure. The CD's are highest-quality and well worth the price, which is quite reasonable. We bought the CD's for our own enjoyment, and they make excellent gifts for our jazz-loving friends back home, We have been to Sax N Art Jazz Club dozens of times over the past six years, and it just keeps getting better and better!

We arrived after stopping by earlier to reserve a table, only to find out they gave our table away and receive some snotty treatment from their staff. Do avoid this place!!

“Great music”
Reviewed November 15, 2013 via mobile

Went to this place on the advice of a friend and glad we did. It is a long, thin place so the viewing is not great, but the music makes up for everything. Not expensive and staff was fun and helpful but the music is what you go for

“Great place for music!”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

A friend living in HCMC took us to Jazz n' Art and we had a great time. Owner and saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan is a terrific musician (we particularly loved his fusion of Vietnamese traditional music and jazz). Also, the music is quite varied - the night we were there he was joined by a jazz guitarist from France, a blues/rock guitarist from England and a singer from New York. Overall, a wonderful evening of really good music.
