If you are reading this review you are looking for a Tour. You can find a tour that will cost you $5AUD and will include a bus trip with a few other tourists on a slow bus, standing around in a swetty group while being explained how to make coconut candy, stopping for 5 minutes at a time so everyone can get a photo, listening to complaints about what is provided for lunch then returning to your hotel after stopping at everyone elses first.

If you choose Mango cruises you get picked up in a private airconditioned car and driven to ben Tre. The drive to the destination is interesting in its self. When you arrive you are transported on the back of a xe Loi. Winding through a small village with narrow roads. (you are provided with a hat). I could give you a detailed description of the tour but bascially it is a private tour. English of the guide isn't quite up to scrat however he is improving. When being shown brick factory etc you can ask as little or as many questions as you like then move onto the next destination.

The cruise is comfortable, there are outdoor chairs with cushions or deck chairs. We lay on the deck chairs on the way home. Comfortable and with a light breeze it is excellent. The riding component is short. For those who are not that fit the bike seats are large and take your time and enjoy and before you know it the bike component is over.Lunch was tasty and great to sit on the veranda of the home stay and eat and watch the world go by on the river.

We had been feeling unwell the day before and by about 1.30pm we decided we would like to head back to our hotel and rest. The best bit about a private tour is you can decide when it is finished as well. We felt satisfied having seen the village life. cruising on the river. Riding on a smaller boad along a narrow canal, seeing rice paper being made, Seeing noodles being made, seeing bricks being made and seeing some landscape out of Ho Chi Minh.

We paid a bit more for our private cruise, we also paid a lot of money to get to vietnam so we decided that we wanted our one day cruise was to be perfect not satisfactory and Mango Cruises provided that.

We had travelled with Come and Go tours in December 2010 and did not hesitate to book a Mekong Delta experience with them again so as to show our friends an amazing experience and I can assure you our hopes for this tour were exceeded well and truly.
We started with an assortment of means of transportation all of which were fantastic and a great way to immerse your-self in the local environment. This was done with a great tour guide who made the whole trip great fun.
Then we got onto our sampan. WOW. The last time we travelled with this company the sampan was a relic, this, was five star.
This company only uses the best, staff, boats, transport, guides, and the stopover at the home of Mango Cruises was outstanding. By the way be ready for a feast. We were serenaded by our tour guide and met with the owners who are very sincere about the business and employ local staff therefore supporting local families.
I would not hesitate to travel with these guys again.

We booked this all day tour to the Mekong Delta through Come and Go Vietnam, and it provided a huge amount of activities and interest for our 2 kids aged 10 and 14. We experienced a variety of transportation - rickshaw ride, walking, cycling, a trip along the canal in a sampan and cruising along in pure comfort on the boat. The boat and the Mango home stay where we had an absolutely delicious lunch, were luxurious. We learned so much from the visits to a multitude of local businesses and got to try rice paper making . Our guide Mr Thong spoke excellent English and was extremely knowledgeable on a whole range of topics. Highly recommended.

We booked a 2 day 1 night home stay in the Mekong delta with Come & go Vietnam who work in conjunction with Mango cruises.

From start to finish hosts Nhung & Jay ensured our every need was catered for.
We were driven by mini-bus to Ben Tre where we then picked up a motorbike bus along the narrow paths. After this we had to walk down to the river where we alighted a narrow boat to get us to the River Mekong where we got on board of our luxury Sampan.

Mr Hap our Mekong guide was very informative and showed us around the local village, We were invited and made very welcome into the locals own homes and were given the opportunity to make rice paper. This was great fun. Tea & sweet goodies were served.

Cycling through the paddy fields and local villages was great. All the locals were very friendly shouting hello & waving. All the meals were taken at the home stay which was lovely. A cookery demonstration on the evening with rolling your sleeves up & getting involved with making spring rolls.

We spent some time fishing in the home stay pond and caught Talapia, which was lovely.

I can not praise this tour enough. No other tourists visit this area, so you feel very privileged to be there.

Well worth the money & packed full of exciting off the tourist track things to do.

Found Mango Cruises on the web the day before we went on the day trip. The owner told us they had only been in operation for one month and was surprised to hear from us as normally all booking are thru a travel agent. We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise up the Meekong. It was a brand new boat but decked in luxury chairs and cushions including banana lounges. We had took a private taxi to Ben Than, picked up a motor bike tray back in a small side street and headed off down a narrow road to pick up our sampan. We did sampan trip up the canals before boarding our luxury boat. You pay for your own drinks on board at very reasonable prices. The owner was our guide for the day and spoke excellent english and did all translations along the way. We thoroughly enjoyed a bike ride thru farming area visiting a poor farmer lady and had morning tea with her. The owner said everyone thought she was crazy visiting a poor farmer. We thoroughly enjoyed it and asked her many questions thru the interpreter. During our visit she pulled a fish trap and was so happy she had caught a small fish and a shrimp. Lunch was at the owners house where she employs young girls straight from school and trained them to wait on guests. The house had a guest room with ensuite which we had a look at. The food here was great freshly cooked from the kitchen to our table. The young girl that waited on us did an exceptional job for one so young. Back on the boat again we visited a rice paper factory, a hand made brick factory and then a family that made rice wine. We had a sample and it was very high alcohol content indeed. We also walked around his farm. Then we went up the Meekong for half and hour and back in to a local jetty to catch our private taxi back to Ho Chi Min. They do not take you to tourist places on this trip infact you do not see another tourist ,other than lunch, on this trip. You truly see vietnam thru their eyes. This trip did not disappoint us in fact we are planning to come back again and do the three day on the Meekong in luxury to Cambodia. You are a winner if you book trips with this company.
