We stayed at the pearl palace when arriving in Ho Chi Min City, we had to grab a flight in the morning for Con Dao island.

The place is great, staff very friendly, relatively modern, except maybe for the bathroom. Stil a very decent night of sleep for the price, breakfeast was served in the room, excellent Pho if that is your type of thing.

We only stayed one night, we walked around a little, but there didnt seem to be much around. Of course, that was a sunday night...

This is a very nice hotel. It's about 15 minutes from the airport but about 40 from teh backpacker district (about 120,000 dong or $6 US cab ride). The room was clean, cozy and modern. The only suggestion I would make is to try to get a room away from the elevator as it makes quite a lot of dinging noises during the night. In the morning they will bring you noodle soup to your bedside. You choose your order at the desk at check in time. Traffic is INSANE around here!

Room Tip: Away from the elevators

Booked this hotel online, seemed great on the photos, suited our budget and is in a very convenient location. Restaurants and supermarkets such as Maximark and Citimart both withing easy walking distance. The staff at the hotel are lovely and really go out of their way to help you as best as they can. The Hotel is opening a day spa soon looks great as they allowed us to view it. Breakfast included every morning delivered to your room at your requested time. The reception staff booked a few great tours for us to wonderful places. Next time I am in Ho Chi Minh City I will not be staying anywhere else but Pearl Palace Hotel. Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Throughout the hotel there is free wifi internet, even in the rooms and it is very fast. If you need to access facebook during your stay on your laptop then ask the friendly front desk and they will download software for you so you can use facebook.

We needed a hotel for a short night between flights. This hotel is about 7 min from the airport. It was simple clean and a bit noisy but for 22 quid you can't really complain too much. They even served coffee to our room in the morning. One tip: be aware of axi drivers. They will try to take you to the Palace Hotel in the city. Make sure they know where you are going and insist on using the meter. Do not accept a flat rate. It should be about 50k VND ($3)

I searched for hotels fairly near the airport for a very brief stay as I arrived at 10pm and had to head back to airport at 4:30am. It served the purpose well. It is located about 10 minutes from the hotel entrance by taxi. The guys at reception were friendly and the porter helped us with our bags up to the room. The rooms are simple, but ok. Queen bed, small tv and aircon. There was no view and one of the windows opened to an indoor staircase. Bathroom normal for Vietnam. After you take a shower the floor is drenched.

There is very little to eat around the hotel after hours. Just a couple Pho joints, but one around the corner was actually darn good. (I live in VN) The price of my room was discounted $5 because we were not going to be there for the free breakfast....so I don't know the quality of it.

Overall, I was not all that impressed, but it certainly worked out just fine. I opted to choose another on my return journey, but it seems safe and the staff are nice.
