The fact that the entrance is a little tricky to find hidden at the back of a small arcade off Dong Koi Street adds to the charming atmosphere. A fairly big open space upstairs makes this restaurant a little bit unique in HCMC and the bright openness offers a nice change from most small, cramped and often dark venues around. Food and drinks are above average with prices to match. The service was polite and efficient. The only detraction is the fact that overall it all comes off as a little bit pretentious. Worth dropping in when you are taking in the down town sights.

I've been to L'usine on a few occasions and began going at the Dong Khoi location last year. However, I find this location a little bit pretentious and there are too many people sitting around on their laptops. I thoroughly enjoyed my experiences at the new Le Loi location as it has a less pretentious vibe and the cafe has a nicer feel to it with indoor and outdoor seating.

I feel very much at home in Australia in this cafe and the food and coffee menu reflects that. The flat whites are 60,000VND which is a little bit less than what you would pay in Australia but is an average price for an Italian style coffee in Vietnam (certainly not the best I've had) and their cappuccinos have chocolate sprinkled on top, too. We have had a number of food items like their cupcakes (better at Fly Cupcakes IMHO), pork and fennel sausage roll (best one I've had in Vietnam), salad (really tasty but a little overpriced) and lasagna (massive and very tasty).

Overall the food and drink are of good quality, service is great but it's a little expensive by Vietnamese standards. I would definitely go in for a western coffee break and browse the items downstairs and share some food if you felt like some yummy sandwiches, salads or other Australian fare.

Wonderful café with great ambience. We had lunch one day and went back for their happy hour and whiled away an hour or two watching Saigon traffic at rush hour. The café has cool looking customers and the menu is very attractive.

The owner of this shop also designs a clothing line exclusively sold here. We bought so much. I wish we could order it online. Be sure to go upstairs to the cafe and sit on the balcony. Good little tarts with iced coffee. Yum.

What I like about this place, it's that it's got character - an influence of vietnamese culture, with french influences in an old shophouse, yet patronized by the westerners or the western educated vietnamese. A very hip joint offering decent food at prices meant only for tourists but the atmosphere is very youthful and buzzing all the time. No lack of customers, the cafe's winning point must be that it's able to keep a steady trend of young and old people interested in their menu and they also have a store at the back showcasing products and designs from local designers.
