“Biggest Surprise in Asia”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2013

Pham Ngu Lao represents the center of the night life in Ho Chi Minh City (HCM). This is the part of the city that never sleeps. If you are a party goer this place you don't want to miss. especially, if you are a guy that loves partying, pretty girls, cheap drinks and cheap hotels you fell into Vietnam heaven. It want get better than this not compared to Walking Street in Pattaya Beach, Thailand but very close second to it. Pham Ngu Lao offers the cheapest hotels in Asia ranging from $8-$150 a night with great deals for travel throughout Vietnam booked from your hotel or a travel place very close to your hotel. Features many eating places from Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Burger King, and many other local places serving international and local cuisines. Its a very noisy, loud, and lively place with a lot of people, traffic, tourists, tour buses, park, and market. It's shoppers paradise almost located in the city center of HCM. Beaware of drug peddlers and other unadvised adventurous enterprises that in most countries would be frowned upon or possibly land you in jail. This area doesn't noticeably have security problems because of the local police token presence but use common sense as you would in any country. Keep a modest amount of cash on you less than $100 or 2,000,000 VND which is plenty for most people that want to party. Use the hotel safe for your valuables if you stay IN THIS AREA. Many hotels are located on side streets or alley ways which are generally very safe. Be extra vigilant and not to drunk in the early hours of the morning. Keep one piece of identification on you such as driver's license or the like in case and maybe (1) credit card if you want. you don't need your wallet the local police will unlikely stop you if you are falling down drunk. Many don't speak English and won't bother you. Vietnam government constables tend to protect tourist since tourism is a protected enterprise and they want your business and investment in their economy. This is not a security endorsement so be careful and protect yourself and your travel interests and concerns. Other than that enjoy yourself. Drink and party to your hearts content and yes enjoy the most beautiful girls in Asia.

“Chillax with a beer”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013 via mobile

Time to sit back and watch the world go by. Super packed at night with a usd1 beer! There are tonnes of stalls for you to choose from. And lots of peddlers will come to you to sell their food items.

“Busy- watch out when you're crossing the road!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

Lots of money changers, street carts, and restaurants. Busy and vibrant with lots of tourists in the area. Banh mi carts, coffee carts, and a host of other street food carts abound on the sidewalks. Pretty entertaining- just watch out for all the motorbikes that Ho Chi Minh is infamous for- a degree in Frogger is a must.
