My chums and I stayed here for two nights, we shared a room, two in one bed and myself in the single. The staff were very nice and they smiled a lot. The downside of this hotel was the location, taxis are so cheap but it is the fact that they can't find the place. One taxi drove around for an hour and we ended up getting out near where we thought the hotel was, we hid in a bar for a few hours to try and calm the nerves of our shortest companion. We walked back, long live google maps.

So overall, its good, but a bigger, more famous hotel (more expensive) may make the trip less stressful.

This place was a let down, and quite cheaty. We arrived a day early and wanted to extend our stay which was fine. However because we booked the later night on booking.com they wanted to charge and extra 4000 D because of the exchange rate they like to use, despite the fact that the walk in rate is only 500000. They reasoning was that the exchange rate made our later night 504000. However I showed repeatedly that they had the exchange rate wrong and it shouldn't be rounded up to suit their needs (should have actually been 500600 for the booking.com reservation). Eventually they accepted we wouldnt' pay the cheaty price.

It got worse from here, as when we checked out they demanded we pay for the complimentary water....because it was from the mini bar. I pointed out that this must be a joke, but as we had a flight to catch didn't have time to argue. I must also add that we had the complimentary water the previous night...but that wasn't charged O.o

They do provide tea/coffee facilities, however you have to bring your own, as they do no provide any actual tea or coffee (what is the point seriously!!)

Then their visa machine doesn't work. Its too slow for international cards, so do bring cash if you dont want the stress of running around looking for it before a flight.

Also do not get a pick up with them as they overcharge like a wounded bull. It is very easy to get the local buses 13 or 28 to down town Ben Thanh station (right by central market) for 5000 D per person rather than the 200000 they want to charge for picking up or dropping off.

And last but not least, do not get the deluxe rooms. As the balcony/windows face the road (obviously), and right beside the hotel is a very loud kareoke club. So unless you like bad loud singing all night the superior or standard rooms are fine.

This hotel is very nice, we stayed here one night as we flew in late and were leaving the next day.

The room was an ok size very clean and bright with tv, kettle and wifi. Breakfast was not great, but there was hit tea and coffee and some noodles available.

The hotel is on a road near the airport with the same name as a road of hotels in the centre of town... The taxi driver took us there and took some convincing that it was the wrong place. The actual location is not great except for the airport, for which it is fantastic!!

I arrived into Saigon on a late flight and had an early morning flight the next day, so my experience with Vuong Quang Hotel was very brief. Still, the hotel made a good impression. Higher standard than I would have expected for the price, but I suppose the location further away from the centre lowers the prices. Convenient for the airport, though. I think the taxi journey took less than 15 minutes and cost 50,000 dong (on the morning of departure, see below for my arrival).

I left early and didn't get a chance to try the breakfast. I don't know anything about the surrounding area either, since I just slept at the hotel, nothing else. The night porter, who spoke excellent English, was very nice and helpful.

Well-equipped room. Two bottles of water included. Air-con, wifi, fridge. Very clean.

One word of 'warning' is about the address. I didn't use the airport transfer service offered by the hotel, but took a regular taxi from the airport. The driver took a quick look at the address on my reservation confirmation print-out, seemed to know the place and started driving. He drove much longer than I had expected, since the hotel was supposed to be close to the airport. Eventually, we got to a street with the same name - but in the wrong district! When he - confused - looked back at the address, he saw his error and started driving back. Wasted time (and money - he still charged me for the full journey!). Lesson: Make sure the driver sees the full address!

I had never been to any Asian destination before and booked this weeks before coming to Vietnam, I really lucked out! The staff is awesome, the rooms are brand new, breakfast was nice, the other guests were very friendly. It made for a very easy transition period for my 3 months abroad. It isn't a tourist area like others in the city, I prefer this. For the first week I was the only white person I saw in the hotel. Everyone tried speaking English to me, guests and staff alike. I felt welcome, safe and secure. The rooms are a little small by Canadian standards, but comfortable. Complimentry water, a kettle and one day I came "home" to a beautiful fruit plate for no other reason then the staff are sweethearts! The one girl at the desk actually got me a train ticket to Hanoi for cheaper then the prices listed on the websites! This not only saved me on the ticket cost, but no cabfare to go buy it! The young man who serves in the dining room is an absolute doll, he works so many hours and is always smiling and never complaining. I just love the staff here! The young man at the desk arranged for my taxi's, made sure I got good rates, and helped with any request I had. If my only complaint is that the room is bit small, well, its a damn good place! I have always been hard to please completely, and they did this in spades!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room, might be a couple more dollars but worth seeing the skyline
