We stayed for two nights in a club junior suite on the 18th floor. Our room included two double beds, large bathroom with freestanding bath and seperate shower, a sofa/sitting area and desk. And two TVs, one being at the foot of the bed. We also had access to the club lounge which meant we had afternoon tea and cocktail hour (free drinks and canapes for three hours each evening). They allowed us, even suggested, we used the lounge after we checked out at 3pm as our flight didn't leave until late in the evening. Wifi access was also good - we managed to watch a number of films online during our stay.
In terms of the local area we tried to go for a walk but there wasn't much to see. We ended up in the shopping centre next door (which can be accessed direct from the hotel), this has a good coffee shop and there's also a food court on the top floor.
I wanted to give this hotel 5 stars but there were a couple of things which let it down for me in comparison to others I stayed in during my trip (in particular the 5* Hotel Metropole in Hanoi which cost a lost less). I didn't like the pool area as it was quite sparse, with few loungers and little landscaping. There was no service at the pool as I had experienced in other hotels, for example you couldn't get food/drinks served to your lounger. I also felt the rooms were a little cold, both in terms of aircon but also atmosphere - it felt a bit bland and transitory, rather than a home from home environment. I guess modern Japanese design just might not be for me!
One word of warning also - on a number of occasions we were conned by taxi drivers taking us to the hotel and significantly overcharged. I presume because they think if you can afford to stay there you can afford to pay them extra. One even appeared to delight in asking us how much we'd paid for our room!
When we arrived from the airport hotel staff informed us we'd been overcharged by 100,000 Dong (1/3 of the fare) and discussed it with our driver to no avail - they ended up suggesting we pay the driver what he was asking so that he would leave (presumably to stop an argument from blocking the front entrance.) Another time a taxi driver took us on a 20 minute 'detour', we'd earlier done the same journey in 2 minutes. This was quite frightening given we were in a strange city at night and when we arrived back at the hotel and asked staff for help they again just suggested we pay the taxi driver what he was asking. I would like to think the hotel could complain to Vinasun about their drivers ripping off and scaring guests.
