We arrived, got served a beer and our bags were taken to the room. Service was much better than more expensive hotels I have stayed at. Room was basic but clean. Owner was so kind and enthusiastic. Great place to stay if you are getting a flight the next day-free taxi to airport. Ct plaza is a 15 min walk where there is a cinema.

Close to the airport if you need it for a night. Checked in after midnight and someone was on hand. Working elevator. Room was on the 2nd floor. On the small side and needs a paint job, but good enough for a night. The only complaint was that the AC didn't work much and after 10-15 minutes I went down to ask him about it. He came back, tried to get it to work, couldn't and only apologized. Thought I'd end up sleeping in a tinderbox, but after he left, it finally kicked in and had no more problems with it. The internet only gets 1-2 bars on that floor, but there's a computer in the lobby you can use. The woman in the morning was nice enough to let me text a friend and then call on her cell. Note: i found this place using agoda.com. Their price on that site showed a discount at 245,000 dong down from 600+. But the list at the reception showed a single was 250,000.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for the caring manner that the lady manager/owner has. The hotel is simple clean and a $4 taxi ride from the centre, the manager does care for your well being and will do her utmost to please. We arrived as a family of four and had no problems at all. A good local breakfast is in the price, a little out of the tourist hub but I think the better for it.

The reviews are spot on. Very close to local market to get local flavour.Ask how to find restaurant 63, this is a gem.Owners husband was to take us to the city (complementary) to see the sights on scooters but due to family illness could not, so Mdm insisted on paying taxi fare.Owners & the guys couldnt do enough to assist & gave us extra pillows to our liking. Whenever we returned a beer or iced coffee was quickly made. Room not fancy but own ensuite fridge, air con, good TV.& family service excels. Free internet by lobby good & a bonus.

I thought that the Xuan Hue Hotel gave excellent value for money, was confortable and had a nice friendly atmosphere. The lady, who ran the hotel really was hospitable, friendly and could not do enough for you as a guest. I used this hotel as a base for my two week stay in Vietnam and there was no problem in leaving luggage there.

The location is not in the city centre, but I thought that this was a plus, as the local area has a good market and restaurants and is cheaper that the centre. I did a lot of my shopping in the market as it was more althentic. It is only a 20 minute bus ride into the city centre and a short taxi ride to the airport, making the Xuan Hue Hotel convenient for both locations.

We stayed here for just one night on 10 January 2012 and booked a double room through agoda.com for US$19.

We got a taxi from the airport and the taxi driver had trouble finding the place but if you ask to be dropped off at the market at Pham Van Hai St then the street that the hotel is on is right by that.

Checking in was a breeze and we got refreshing glasses of fresh passionfruit juice when we arrived. Our room on the fourth floor was clean and comfortable. It was on the street side but we didn't have any problems with noise at night or really early in the morning. We had wi-fi in our room and there was a computer down by the dining area.

As everyone else has mentioned, the owner and the rest of the family and staff here are really nice and helpful. We were given a map when we arrived and they explained which buses to take to get there and back again. We took a cheap 5-10 minute bus ride to the War Remnants Museum then walked to several other sights from there. There are lots of local places to eat nearby, ask the staff for recommendations if you're not sure where to go. Don't expect to find restaurants and bars full of tourists in this area. We loved that we felt like we were seeing how locals really live and work.

Breakfast at the hotel the next morning was good - eggs, sauteed veges, fresh bread and tea/coffee. The best part about breakfast was meeting and talking to the other travellers that were staying there. The group we met was going to the local market with the owner and were going to have a cooking lesson with her!

Overall we found this to be a good place for a 24-hour stop in HCMC on our way out of Vietnam and would have been happy staying longer if we had to. We would stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends.

When My wife and I booked this place, we didn't expect the treatment the owner gave us. We arrived in the early evening and were given freshly squeezed passion fruit juice, a beer and 2 bottles of water. We were shown to a very clean room which had a fridge with 3 free bottles of water, satellite TV, free WI-fi, and a spacious bathroom.
The next morning, we were given a free breakfast of 2 fried eggs, veggie mixture, a small amount of bacon, a baguette and coffee. While having breakfast, the owner loaned us a map of the city, told us how to get to the city centre for the tourist attractions and provided us with the bus fare! She gave us some water to take with us as well.
We needed an electrical adapter for our computer so we could it in our room and she gave us that free as well - to keep.
The next morning we checked out but before we left, they arranged for a taxi, gave us another beautiful breakfast with an orange this time and more water.
We have never been treated so well and we only could stay two nights.
If you want somewhere close to the airport, but one bus ride away from the city centre, this is the place to stay.
It was also very inexpensive for what you get! We definitely recommend this place!
